If this is all new, don't learn it all at once! Pick a few to focus on. At 7:54, I do some example crosses where I showcase the techniques from the video!

For Example 2 what do you think about - L' B L2 D' L F I use that bit at the beginning to deal with bad edges that aren't relatively correct. Also that preserves the block for the xcross, which is nice.

On example 2 did you see that the blue and orange pair would match up or did you get lucky. You inserted blue with D L but while i was watching i saw F2 R' and it makes sense why you did it your way but i wanted to ask

These are really useful but they mangle my brain. I have been doing the same method since the mid-1980s which is cross, top corners, second layer edges, position bottom corners, orientate bottom corners and then two moves to complete the bottom edges. I'm 48 now and relearning is hard but I am doing okay with the cross and F2L - not ready for OLL or PLL yet, one step at a time!! I can turn fairly quickly but I have big pauses while working out what to do. My strategy is to stop and plan my next set of moves and then execute them as quickly as possible. Not sure if that is the right strategy. I need a lot of practise!

I still haven’t pursued learning (is it called the X-cross, when, during the cross, you manage to pair f2l?) Any way, towards the end of your vid, 1 of your cross solves, right before you inserted the last edge, you went, “Ooh, f2l pair” & inserted the pair to finish your cross. Thank you for that demo. It gave me a REAL good idea/example of how you can some times insert a pair during CROSS. Thank you Thank you 🙏

I didn't download any cross tutorial untilnow because I thought it would be elementary. So i practiced making the cross intuitively so I can practice F2L. Mnow used to the order of the color of the white cross edges but I solved it face up which slows down my solves obviously. Now i have to get used to the reverse of what i trained lol. I have to download yt here at the net cafe as data is bought here in my country by the gig. Before we had unlimited surf on plug in broadband and 4 bucks gives me 2 weeks of net use regardless of data downloaded. if that weren't the case i'd always be on your channel. I think we need more x cross examples solves. we also need to recognize the pieces during inspection. Most solves start out slow because of this. i wish we can solve F2L as swift as we can solve last layer which is about 16 tps like u said

For case 2, I think I'd start on green and do F' L F2 D' F R 3 moves to solve 2 edges, and leaves 2 more good edges 1 move from being solved. There's a small regrip in my execution but it's minor and still flows pretty well

Assuming you're doing a white cross on the bottom, an intermediate trick is that a lot of times, there's one or more cross pieces on the top layer (with white on top) that just needs a double move like R2, F2, B2 or L2 (or a U move to match the side center (or align it with a rotated cross) and a double move) to put it into the cross. Just move those out of the way (with a U move) when you insert at least 2 other cross pieces. Then insert the easy pieces on the top layer last. This means for beginners/intermediates, you only need to insert two pieces into the cross and this is really easy to figure out during inspection. The double move piece is easily inserted afterwards and the last piece shouldn't require more than an easy 3 moves regardless of where it is. Then you can do the same with pieces that are on the middle layer and already have their centers matched. These are easily insertable with a quarter move. So try to insert other pieces first without moving these middle layer pieces. Keep them for last (or just before top layer pieces mentioned above). Sometimes you have to put it in early, but only as a second piece then the third can go in. That's just as good because you still only have to remember 2 pieces. There are tons of tricks to create a cross and only need to remember how to place 2 pieces and get all 4 in and easily figured out in 15s of inspection.

THERE IS ARE NO POSITIONS ON THE CUBE CALLED "HERE" OR "OVER HERE" OR "THERE", NO COLOR CALLED "THIS" OR "THESE", AND NO MOVE CALLED "THAT". PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT YOU ARE DOING. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING TO TRY TO LEARN FROM. I gotta find a hobby where the knowledgeable people write things down that you can read rather than just pointing a camera at themselves blowing way too fast through an explanation.

I use a lot of wide u and d moves in my cross / F2L and I've found they become super intuitive after a while. I find myself in a lot of situations where I've made the cross and then I allign it with wide u moves. This also gives me a chance to look around the cube for my first F2L pair. Am I teaching myself a bad (slow) habit or is this a useful utilization of this trick?
@JPerm

for aligning the cross, both u and D are good depending on the case. try not to overuse it if the finger tricks are awkward though
