Nice video!!..it's beautiful to see the sun and the water like that.....there are a couple of other surf places on the north shore like 'The Bubble' at El Hierro and 'The Shooting Gallery' near the water pumping station outside Corallejo...both worthy of a surf video if you decide to make some more :)

if you leave El Cotillo on the dirt track (i think it's still a dirt track??) that runs south (along near-ish to the cliff edge) after about 1-2km you come across a lovely little beach...you have to walk down from the cliff but the path is OK...it's really secluded and a nice day out...there's also a surf break down there.....it would be a nice walk for the dogs!!..i think it's called Esquinzo beach or something similar..but i think there's also a town called Esquinzo so don't get confused with that. :)

It is still a dirt track and yes it is called Esquinzo beach. I have been there to photograph the sunset many times. Unfortunately dogs aren't (legally) allowed on any beach here.

awww...that's a shame..we have a lot of dog walkers where i live and not all of them are responsible owners if you know what i mean..so i can understand why they are banned, but it's still a shame....and yes I agree with that west-facing outlook Esquinzo beach would be a great place to photograph the sunset. :)

Nice one JP thanks for showing that, I'll be turning up next month with my Kitesurf gear, any advice on best areas around Cotillo and what to look out for, lagoons and lighthouse area? Been told your not aloud to kite in the lagoons. I'm just getting to intermediate stage so won't be tackling big waves. Will I get away with a shorty or full wetsuit, so many questions JP sorry... cheers Colin
@JPinFuerteventura7 жыл бұрын
So many questions as you say Colin and asked of someone who has never kite surfed nor worn a wetsuit in their life and who only goes in their swimming pool when the water is 30ºC and above. So I would say you need a full wetsuit, scarf, hat and gloves! ;-) The Piedra Playa (the beach immediately south of Cotillo) and the area to the right of the lighthouse are certainly the most popular with kite surfers. Have a great, wet, time Colin,

Did not see you in the surf John,but well filmed thought you might have interviewed some of the guys.........

Too cold and wet for me Keith. I think my Italian is too rusty to interview them.

Seems like the rocks are pretty close to where the waves are breaking, but judging distance on video is tough. Where's the beach bunnies to go with it?
@JPinFuerteventura7 жыл бұрын
Actually the waves are pretty close to the rocks. I have no idea how they don't get injured (or drowned) when they get sucked down by a wave. No beach bunnies there unfortunately. :-(

Hey! I"m not seeing any ads, you didn't forget to monetize this, did you? Oh, and I guess you better check out those other surf spots then for a better "view".
@JPinFuerteventura7 жыл бұрын
Yes it was monetised but there are definitely less adverts being shown. My month earnings are down 30% for the same views.

Hello do you know name of this spot?
@JPinFuerteventura7 жыл бұрын
Well I have called it "Old Harbour Point" but I am not sure it actually has a name. It is the old harbour in El Cotillo.
