I experienced racism at Chase as well. I went to reopen a account in a very racist town that I was living in, and was told that I could only have the liquid account. The previous one was closed because it was hacked twice. My sister and significant other called me in reference to money while in her office. She asked what I did for a living and I told her I owned a business as a small batch manufacturer. She allowed me to only open a liquid account and add funds. After I left the account was flagged. I tried to do a zelle to my sister for a rental car and I was told to go into the nearest branch and bring my proof of ID. That was done immediately. I still did not have access to my funds. I went into a branch in a major city the following day and tried to add more funds again and was denied. I spoke with a representative and they refused to talk to me and had me wait for someone on the phone. The lady informed the representative to refund my money and they did not want to do business with me. I'm not sure what the lady in Hammond, Louisiana put in the system. I asked why and was told "We just don't want to do business with you!" I don't know if they thought it was a drug deal or laundering (which is the vibes I was getting), but she just needed a damn rental car. Mind you I have a shopping cart set up through WePay which is a Chase product for my website. There is plenty proof of my occupation. I will never recommend Chase.

Why do certain banks keep showing up in this reports: JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, US Bank? One or two might be bad employees, but this goes far beyond that and points to the bank's corporate culture.

Wow I’ve been banking with chase since high school and have never experienced anything less with their customer service but not all branches have the same type of people/managers and I do believe that racism isn’t only happening at chase but in other banks as well. it’s 2020 and people are still treated unequally just sad and disgusting

I know all about discrimination at JP Morgan Chase. I worked for them for over 17 years and was let go, unexpectedly. They adopted a new rating system for our work load and with this new system, they kept saying I was working to slow. My rating always fell slightly below level. So I was fired. It happened just before I turned 50 years old. I expected to retire from there. I was devastated. I immediately closed all my accounts with them.

Heck they gave out my bank information in 08, when my mom passed, to the funeral home and I informed corporate amd they did nothing about it. My aunt was in just as much shock as I was, because she was there also. This is utterly horrible.

True story: Years who, I had a small contract with someone that paid me with a Wells Fargo check. She had a Trust account with them and the check clearly read TRUST OF in the upper left hand corner. The bank manager came over because I didn’t have an with them. She looked at my ID and asked for another piece. I showed her two additional pieces. After displaying three pieces of current identification, she flat out refused to cash my check. She was pissed that I had the nerve to ask her why not? Yes, it was a white woman that wrote me the check. We met the following week and she paid me in cash.

Chilling, but a sad reality. The woman that wrote you the check should have met you at the bank, and demanded that her business transaction be processed. That is what she is paying them ( the Bank) to do right??

I'm so excited for a black man to be intellectual, educated well spoken but still carry himself as he would around his people. I try to tell my friends that they dont have to abandon their culture and try to fit in. 5:16 “They told us that they let a black man listen to the tapes and they said none of this stuff was racism.” Why do racists think one member of a racial group can speak for the entire group? That sort of thinking has always bothered me, yet conservative news outlets and institutions find tokens all the time to serve as their mouthpieces for a chunk of change. It’s tiring.
