JP & Schawee remove massive honey bee colonies from a shed being torn down in Thibodeaux, Louisiana. We were stung multiple times & had to wear our bee suits which we rarely have to do but these bees weren't in the mood to play, no sir!

That fact you boys can stand there and work with no suit on plus save then to relocate is mindblowing. That there was one massive nest. The sound alone would be enough for me

Sweet heavens that is a big one! And you gents still standing there with no protection..... LOL! Oh thank the stars you finally got protection on. If it is two hives not one - they may be a little defensive as both are totally open to each other! And one or two - I see you are taking the safer path and vacuuming up bees in two boxes as if they are two colonies. Impressive teamwork there. A great pleasure to watch you work this one out. TWO queens!! I guess that answers the question of how many colonies were there! Amazing job!

I watch Mr. Ed a lot and found the 2 of you have completely different style, and both styles work really well. Over the years I found it is better to get your information from more than one source. This way you can pickup good ideas the other may not use. Couldn't have found 2 better guys to learn from, than the 2 of you. He uses a bee vac a lot, and you dont so much, but you still get the Queens and that's all that matters. Fun watching you, I hope to capture a few swarms in traps by next year and start out slowly. On disability and cant afford to go whole hog from the beginning. Seems like fun and pollinators are important to the ecology.

We had 24 local honeys out of no less than 32 varietals . Kieawe was our year round honey , output of just ²0 strong hives to control the wild bees near just two hotels equaling 1200 lbs. Every two weeks .😂 Very much to sell and nearvhad any honey in stock due to my Queen bee ( Sharon, my wife ) efforts to market our product . Aloha for your video .Mahalo,Mark Baker /aka. I have the same question, do they ever get stung? I have been stung by something, only a few times in my life…and it really hurts. its not something I could ignore, and it keeps hurting and when it stops hurting, it then raises a blister that itches intensly for days. The only relief is soaking in epson salts and or hydrocortisone cream and keep it on with a bandaid for a few days. IDK if it was a honey bee or a yellowjacket that stung me. An old Apache showed me how to keep them away..if they start buzzing around, you just make a dismissal motion with the back of your hand. Nope, did not work for me. The best way to keep yellow jackets away is to set a plate of barbeque salmon or ribs on the far side of your camp or yard.

I look to have at least 8 hives. So I can have the bees as my little workers to pollinate my some day fruit trees and my garden and grapes and other plants. So brand new to this. +JPthebeeman Wish I would have thought to have the camera to day out. Man what a day. the older hive I got from the people that didn't want them anymore. The box was old and falling a part and heavy. It has a brood box and had a super but some one took out all the frames but one in the super so they built from the top cover all the way down to the frames in the brood box. So I watch so many of yours and others videos and decided to treat as a hive removal to put them in a new hive box with a new brood box. the hard work was removing all the honey man lots of honey I filled up a caner box full of honey comb and two large bowels. I was scared doing it because of not knowing were the queen was. I spent 2 hours looking for her after removing all the honey and transferring the frames from the brood box over to the new box. Man watching your videos you find her with like pin point accuracy me hell new like a month new. but I found her. she was on the wall of the old brood box, that little turd but I picked her up put her on a brood frame that had brood on it. and put her and the frame in the new box. I have yellow wagon that I had the new boxes in two deep brood boxes and I parked it near were the old one was at and put the old one buy it with the lid off on its side and they all by sun set went in the new box. out of those 10 frames still had 4 frame's of honey and the brood in the middle so left that with them. But man what a mess. I was thinking I only want a few hives but now I think I might go for more like 8. I forgot to look in the morrir and say those words you told me to say. I think I'm getting hooked and with almost 16 some LB of honey from the super maybe more. I was happy what what I got done to day.

Amazing videos! Just wondering why Schawee's smoker doesn't make smoke? He pumps it a lot of times, and not much comes out, but yours is "smokin'"!
