Without Rob Chapman, this channel wouldn't exist. Go look at the old videos from before he came along and helped get them going. His own channel was doing well at the time. Hell, even now he has more subscribers. I'd say I don't understand the hate but I do. How many guitarists does it take to change a lightbulb. 12. 1 to do it and 11 to stand around and say how they could do it better. Long story short , the channel was total shit at the time. Understandable, it was new. But Rob helped build this channel up. Lee's been on here saying it straight himself.

Fernweh loosely translates to "distance ache", and implies the longing one sometimes feels for wanting to be somewhere far far away - almost like a kind of nostalgia for not feeling at home. I think the name hits home in terms of "not the kind of verb you'd be playing inside of your habitual style or comfort zone".

Additionally: the Tesla has internal dip-switches (located and accessible via a nifty little hole located on the underside of the pedal) and adds a ridiculous range to the pedal. I was sort of sad that didn't come through here, because it can even be a Rat or Muff, depending on the very reactive settings. Chuffed to see you guys reviewing these pedals, nonetheless!

@akesvensson37785 жыл бұрын
It might be that the Dry Out form the last pedal got to heavy in the mix. If you can't remix it you have to do the video all over again. Which you should do to do the pedals justice. The sound picture was indeed overall way too chaotic. You can see that the guys are really into the sounds when playing but we are not. That proves that something is going on for them that we don't hear in the clip.

Shame as when it worked it sounded great, but totally terrible quality throughout for the price. I had a bad experience on these badly made pedals, gave up after trying to buy a Kaleidoscope many times from Andertons! (Andertons were great as always and looked after me, wasn’t their fault). One was wired back to front and the pots all made strange noises when you moved them, one rattled and made an audio racket every time you stepped on it and the other was just dead. I took a look inside the last one and I’ve never seen such a badly made product with loose chips, dodgy soldering and bits hanging off. Not surprised Andertons stopped dealing with them.

To Andertons: If you want to sell these pedals, you should use a demo team that has experience with these pedals and knows how to play the guitar appropriately for these pedals. The idea of "lets roll video and we'll just explore the pedals" is feasible for simple pedals or one complex pedal. Diving into all of these complex pedals with no real idea of what they do is the recipe for a disaster, which this video is, unfortunately. I'm calling for a redo, and don't just wing it. Let Jet, lol, run the show with someone who knows how to play the guitar for the genre/sounds the pedals are designed for. You can see from the comments, some people just hate these sounds, they want to buy their 12th repackaged tube screamer for their $2,000 tube amp. Then there are people who love the sounds these pedals make. The latter are the larger group, and they are where the vitality in guitar based music is happening, meaning there will be life, growth and an expanding market. The guitar is a shrinking market, it is terminal. As always, the only players that will remain, will be those who figure out where the growth is and supply it. Please remain relevant.

it would be great if the sound was louder and the playing more suitable, but i get that sometimes there will be recording/mixing issues etc. it's funny how many people in the comments think this is the only way these pedals can sound. of course with other equipment, irl, like if you tried them with your own rig, they'd sound totally different.
I love the look on their face like it's the most beautiful thing they have ever heard, but I just hear silence.

Didnt have the best experience with this brand tbh. Waited months longer than announced and got a kaleidoscope that already broken before playing a single note. Unscrewed the back and there were already loose cables because the soldering was done poorly. All the knobs were turning crookedly. It was overall really noisy (might be because of the damaged solder joints or because the cables were mostly not isolated). Unplugging the Power cable further damaged solder joints... it looked like a diy project done with too little expertise. The builder offered to replace it but I got my money back because I didnt wanted to wait for months again to get a pedal that might break again in no time. This was way back so I hope they improved their quality since then. I guess otherwise andertons wouldnt stock them. Not meant as hate, just the experience I made.

I had a very similar experience with Stone Deaf FX. Got a Fig Fumb and the second time I turned it on it didn’t work properly. It took over a month of repeated promises that they would fix it with no action to actually do so; no instructions on how to send it back to the manufacturer. Eventually I contacted the dealer for a refund. It would be really hard to convince me to try another of their pedals in the future. That said, I got a Kaleidoscope from JPTR FX just earlier this year, and I love it! Easily one of the three best pedal purchases I’ve ever made! I hope that if you like the aesthetic and sound of these pedals, you can get over your initial bad experience and give them another shot. And who knows? Maybe I’ll get over it and be able to give Stone Deaf another try! 🤷🏼♂️

'Crazy. Absolutely crazy." For years I've been watching these boutique, whatever, my ass, pretty boxes that cost ten times as much as the old school pedals do precisely . . . . . what? one or two new things? Some of these beautiful turds can do so much and have so many knobs and switches that there's no way that you could ever realistically put more than one setting to use in a live situation. Unless you're Radiohead and can spare a member to spend an entire songe doing nothing but twiddling knobs and switches on it. They're cool. They're pretty. They're unnecessarily large on your board. These are priced pretty reasonably. But overall, boutique pedals are way overpriced for what you get. The main effect these boxes have is to drive up the overall price of pedals in general. Oh, and to make you look like someone who is far more interested in appearances than in utility. Congratulations. You spent 300 bucks on a shiny status symbol that makes that one weird sound that you use in that one weird song, or that you overuse with callous disregard for what's needed in your songs. Make them programmable and we'll talk.
