I think NIGHTWALKER is about TEN surrendering to his alter ego (the monstrous performer and artist that he is) which is actually a source of great power. Being in group of 26 members he had to subdue his real shine to blend in ("I've been waiting so long, hiding my power"). I think his passion for what he does and his creativity is so strong and although he tries to keep it down low cuz maybe the time was not yet right before to fully express his own style as an artist, he actually has been biding his time to finally show his capabilities all along. It's also a fact that SM kept him in their dungeon for so long only to be sent to China and then after that WayV doesn't even get to get a momentum cuz of the Lucas scandal and then again Ten was on hiatus for almost 2 years. He was forced to bury his artistic power which is actually a very strong force inside of him that he can't resist. This song is about him surrendering to that "HIGHER FIRE" inside of him. Edit: this is my own interpretation and could be totally not what Ten has in mind😅

The music video and whole album is a vibe and a bop. Dangerous is definitely my fave on the album but damn Ten is very freaking artsy with the video

The entire album is so good! First listen I didn't really get Nightwalker and the way the verses meshed with the chorus, but I really like it now.

Ten really was feeling his inner Taemin with the choreo and vocal melodies and ad-libs in the music video And presentation was similar especially when you're looking at the dark concept

His style has absolutely nothing to do with Taemin. He was already going in this direction, plus he worked on everything from the songs to choreo himself (collaborating with others). Each time he's done new songs, it's been quite different from the last one he did. He's said so himself in interviews that once he's done a style, he doesn't want to repeat and tries a different one next time. His choreographies also vary a lot because of that. The concept of this MV isn't even like anything Taemin has ever done either. It wouldn't even apply to Taemin. His talent has only grown with age. He's never had to suppress himself to fit in with a massive group. If anything, he had to push himself further after Jonghyun passed. They've had completely different experiences, and their dance backgrounds are completely different as well.

@@Casper745 I do know what you mean though. It's not that this concept is necessarily the same as one of Taemin's, but Ten's strong dance and commitment to artistry does remind me of Taemin -- and that's a compliment. Some of Taemin's earlier songs, like Drip Drop and Press Your Number honestly weren't my personal favorites, but I thought the videos (& dances) were beautiful/well-done and appreciated the hard work that went into them.

@@spacebutterfly_ yeah even though I don't know much about Taemin or any members of SHINee I've come to like their Solo music let me know if Jonghyun released a lot Solo music before his passing

@@Casper745 you should know that although the constant comparison with Taemin sounds like a compliment to some, to a lot of Ten fans it can also get tiresome cuz they are just different. It's sometimes like validating Ten through Taemin and basically giving the credit mainly on Taemin. With all due respect Taemin is Taemin. Ten is Ten.
