Less than 15mins of practice required, I did 1 round of Wim Hoff , was shocked cuz I've always had poor breath hold (less than 1min), had to right it down and mark the date cuz on the first go I hit 3min 04 sec.

The witcher trials probably mainly refers to the mutations they make the kids go through, which most die from. It's all fantasy magic mumbo jumbo, but they use spells and alchemy to make them go through mutations and develop "superhuman" characteristics. And the trademark cat eyes they develop, and super sense of smell and stuff.

Good insight and David is truly inspiring. Just one remark, when someone drowns on a frozen lake and recover later there is no freezing involved and therefore no ice crystals causing cell damage. That's one of the main problems in the current cryopreservation techniques. What we could learn from his amazing physiology may someday help develop stasis technology for keeping patients in stable conditions during transport or in the operation table or even trough long space travels. We go deep on JRE 🙂

Funny thing that no so long I tried Wim Hoff breathing technique. First try - 2 minutes, after only one week doing it - I easy hold my breath almost 4 minutes. And I’m a smoker for the last 12 years... this really works! And the feeling you get after doing it - the best ever, like you born new again

Michael Young those kids are medical anomalies and they arent holding their breath... they drown but the cold temperatures slow the body down and prolong the window they can be resuscitated. We do this on purpose now on cardiac arrest patients... it’s called Arctic Sun.

Yeah, a lot of people don’t consider that chokeholds block the carotid artery, meaning that oxygenated BLOOD will not reach the brain. That will put someone out very quick, no matter how long they can hold their breath (because blood is still able to flow). Then again, maybe we are all being too literal about your fun comment and need to just enjoy the humor that you have presented. :)

Holding your breathe is basically holding the air in your lungs, but chokehold is a different story it blocks the oxygen and blood supply..

I did this even before learning about David Blaine's stunts, and the way he explained how to do it resonates with what I felt when I held my breath. I was so relaxed until I was alerted, then my body panicked and triggered the urge to resurface.
