Safe to go out, doesn’t mean it’s 100% safe. They never said surfaces were a way the virus spreads easily. And they're not saying it can't be spread that way at all now. Nathan Resick you are totally off here. Veritas videos use a practice that used to be common in journalism. Shining a light on what is actually happening behind the scenes. Capturing people’s words and actions in live videos. No way to deny it. Plus the 8+ year old law suit Pakman mentioned wasn’t even deceptive, PParenthood was just able to sue them due to a technicality because the undercover video was in a state where there was limitations on what could be shot without consent if it wasn’t in a public place, etc. Even that deflection was BS.... and notice he completely changed the subject after. Lastly, shame on him for purposely not watching the Veritas videos. It is part of your profession and you are putting your head in the sand. Stop being an NPC, open your eyes and if you don’t like the Veritas video or can fault it afterwards then debate it then. What a beta, out of touch, bubble boy.
@Sprite_5254 жыл бұрын
Nathan Resick - they’re not liars. They DO lop-sided work, exposing people only on the left. That’s the major problem, that they don’t expose people on the right. If they did equal coverage on both sides, they would be much harder to dismiss. Right wingers give a knee jerk response “Veritas has no agenda the left is just that corrupt.” Please, the right has its problems. The fact that project Veritas ignores the right is the real killer of their credibility. But not “lies”, they expose people through raw footage. It’s not wise to label Veritas as liars. Much better to say they’re lopsided activists using raw footage for political change rather than practicing pure philosophical truth & honesty for its own sake

One of the problems with removing videos like that Dr. Eriksen one which has flaws in it is that any critique of the video, eg. Brett/Heather Weinstein's, loses its context which means the flaws never get exposed. Censorship doesn't just stop bad or flawed ideas it stops good rebuttals. Basically it erases the chance of people/society to learn and improve their/its reasoning skills. It's no coincidence that censorship-heavy countries lose their creativity and ingenuity.

I found no such exchange in this video. David Pakman's overall position is correct; tech companies have an establishment bias, not much of a political bias. Establishment media like FOX News and CNN get propped up, while independent media get buried. David is also correct that the disproportionate censorship of conservatism on most platforms is due to conservatism's incompatibility with any sort of moderation; for example... if Twitter for whatever reason decides to ban 5G conspiracy content, 90% of the people effected by this ban will be conservatives. Now you can disagree with their decision to ban 5G conspiracy content, but the point here is... there's no actual way to ban 5G nuts that will result in an equal distribution of of bans between left and right, therefore Twitter is given two choices... no moderate at all, or moderate in such a way that disproportionately effects conservatives.

Kyle Crocker Social Media is a business on the Internet. You can start a social media platform on the Internet for free in a day. Just because KZbin has the most customers doesn’t make it a public utility. You can’t start a power company by yourself...probably ever. But you can spin up a blog and podcast with a payment portal in six hours on free WiFi at Starbucks.

@@estevenj just because they can doesn't mean they should. Nestle's a private company so I guess it's A-OK that they're putting impoverished African babies on formula to make their mothers stop producing milk and grow a reliance on their products. Shitty business practices should be called out, and if they harm the public, or democracy, then I have no objection to government interference in the matter.

I like to add that KZbin, Twitter and Facebook platforms go beyond the US or even English speaking countries. They also give platforms to people in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Portuguese, Finnish, Romanian, Slovenian, Czech, Polish, Greek, Somali, Singaporean, Burmese, Lithuanian, Zulu, Trukish, Dutch, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Russian and other non-English speaking communities. Some dictatorships are cracking down on social media platforms because it gives a voice to truly opressed people. By enforcing censorship rules KZbin starts to become an ally of those governments. Also how do we handle international dialogue? Do you let an American own company decide what speech is okay and is in not in other countries? Are American bloggers allowrd to openly disagree and criticize foreign governments and vice versa? Or dose KZbin get to decide whose authority is okay to openly challenge? My point is that social media platforms are having an influnce on the "whole planet", not just the English speaking world. Personally, I think giving companies run by a small group of people the power to decide what speech is okay "globally" is giving someone way to much power.

I think it's quite sad that too many people believe that they need such a big government to keep themselves in line. I have been through several coups(?) in Thailand and you would be surprised how civil human beings act when they have nobody telling them exactly how to live. Life goes on and flourishes. So maybe anarchy isn't such a bad idea either. Would most likely be an end to constant wars as well.

Anarchy is the result of free thinking. Walk into a forest, and you'll see anarchy. If you're still going to throw around given bastardized definitions of words, you betray your own point.

op - right, the precursor to internet-media, cable tv, was the embodied free speech and everything in the world of computation that we enjoy today would never have existed if that adherence to free speech wasnt so strict... free speech is important, but we've been dealing with censorship for a long time. it is the connectivity of internet-media that is making what has been going on for ages obvious to the world. in other words "the inventions that made this country rich" are exposing the problem that has predated them. people thought there was free speech, but the primary source of all the information they consumed was grossly censored -and actually used to control them more than anything.
