Especially the first half of his career. The way he looked against Liston in that first fight, it was not even close. The way he looked against Cleveland Williams right before his draft layoff, was straight God mode.

@@650homesbyramy2 you have to remember williams was shot in the stomach and had just recovered. He also had to put on something like 100 pounds that he had lost during recovery just to fight Ali. The Cleveland williams that fought liston would have been a better match, Ali still would have whooped his ass I’m sure but williams is underrated. Foreman said it himself, williams is one of the hardest hitters to ever live

Of course, George Foreman would vaunt Cleveland Williams as a great puncher. As much as George Foreman hated Muhammad Ali. Humiliated Foreman stumbling to the floor like a drunk drinked a gallon of vodka. All of Foreman's best punches didn't phase Muhammad Ali in that fight with Foreman.

Actually, the great underlying morals about Muhammad Ali are often misunderstood. He was the heavyweight champion of the world, at a time where that title was /the/ biggest sporting achievement in the world .. he was earning riches fighting all across the globe, he was in his athletic prime, he was a charismatic superstar and he carried the mantle of “the greatest” proudly. ... and he gave it all up. He gave it up because he knew that there was something better than being rich, famous, and “the greatest of all times” in the eyes of the people. He knew that it was better to be a man of your convictions first and foremost, and a man of peace. It is better to sleep in a tattered bed comfortable in your own mind than to sleep in a mansion having broken everything you stood for. He gave up his money, his achievements, his job, and his freedom because he was a man of conviction, and that is better than being the greatest.

@@miniman2132 Muhammed Ali's by far greatest achievement and contribution to the world was the unanimous decision of the Supreme Court overruling the Muhammad Ali's conviction for refusing military service due to his strong outspoken MORAL CONVICTION opposing the Vietnam War. The ramifications of that ruling set the precedent for impetus the individual determines conscientious objection not the Federal Goverment. The enormity of the ordeal Muhammed Ali endured and surmounted is miraculous. The Supreme Court ruling made a precedent is yet astonishly obscure. This Supreme Court Ruling in the most powerful country, United States, with the most powerful military in civilization was at war, Vietnam. Historically, from antiquity of the tribe, the nation-state, and developed nations had the ultimate determination to constrict men into military service during wars. Muhammad Ali's case being overturned by the Supreme Court was of the resounding magnitude in historic mandates of mankind from hunting gathering groups to modern civilization. The individual determines the moral ethics determining religious or conscientious objection refusal to serve in the military not the state. My point is well taken. Howard Cosell, a lawyer, adamantly asserted the same position I expressed. There was absolutely definitively not a molecule of "intrinsic levity" in the character of Muhammad Ali.

I’m sorry Joe, it’s not hard to say who is the greatest heavyweight of all time .. we know what the greatest era of Heavyweight boxing is, and we know that the only man to beat everyone in that golden era of heavyweight boxing was Muhammad Ali. Ali wasn’t the same fighter after his stand against the War in Vietnam, but he accumulated his greatest victories outside of his prime against Frazier (twice) and Foreman .. nobody before, during or since the days of Ali have given as much as that man gave in order to be proven the best of all time. The price he paid for all he gave us was steep, “the loudest man in the world silenced, the fighter who could not be felled by the mightiest of punches ultimately succumbing to their cumulative effect with a lifetime sentence”. Ali give us the best of himself. And in doing so inspired generations .. there is no comparison, he’s the greatest.

Didn’t matter how many times you knocked him down, he’d get right back up and you’d have to just kill him. It was never about his skill set, it was his heart and his mind that made him the greatest. Foreman was so humiliated after the knockout from Muhammad Ali he went into an extended period of prolonged severe chronic depression. Joe Rogan got this miserably wrong. Muhammad Ali transcended the Greatest Of All Times exponentially beyond boxing. Muhammad Ali's ruling of The Supreme Court overturning his conviction refusing to serve in the military. Made the jurisprudence precedent. The individual determines religious and conscientious to serve in the military. Not the Federal Goverment, United States, having the most powerful military in civilization during a major war. Mike Tyson adamantly declared with undeniable sincerity, tears in his eyes. Muhammad Ali is the GREATEST OF ALL TIMES. I'll take Mike Tyson declaration written in stone. Anyone otherwise differs from that Mike Tyson declares. I don't take as a grain of salt.

Mike Tyson strongly avowed with tears in his eyes. Muhammad Ali was a Monster. You had to kill him to win a fight against Ali in his prime. Tyson admitted I'm not like that. Joe Rogan really is a crass unsophisticated, and reprehensible dullard. That picture on this podcast wreaks revealing Joe Rogan harbors disdainful racists attitudes toward AfroAmericans. Depicting he's humorously condescending above and beyond Muhammad Ali's sophistication. Attempting to pigeonhole Ali as a joke. Joe Rogan doesn't know jack sh.t about Muhammad Ali and really boxing either. Muhammad Ali's principal intent from the inception of his devised theatrics were tactical devices in an advertising marketing strategy was tantamount to that of a marketing genius. The creative loud mouth wit inclusive denouncing racist White America (Mind you, Muhammad Ali's strident denunciation of United States racism toward AfroAmericans domestically and atrocities in foreign policies were from his heart and soul undeniable convictions.) When most AfroAmericans were typically humble or low profile was a measure also attracted attention from around the world to the Heavyweight Championship fights. Ultimately it brought THE BIG MONEY to Heavyweight Championship Fights. The more you hated Muhammad Ali, Good. The more you'll pay to see a fight thinking how much pleasure you MIGHT get seeing Ali lose a fight. Wishful thinking, certainly during Ali's prime. Bottom line, Ali got richer. Psychological intimidation was corollary to a secondary, or tertiary significance. Muhammad Ali before the outset of his professional career had no doubt he was unbeatable including by Sonny Liston. Howard Cosell, a lawyer, unequivocally averred Muhammad Ali's greatest contribution to the world was winning The Supreme Court ruling overturning his conviction for refusing to serve in the military. During the epoch of the most powerful country, United States, was executing a major war. Muhammad Ali by so stretch of the imagination by any sensible person would remotely consider the slightest inkling of a notion today portray Muhammad Ali a joke. Evidentiary of that despicable picture I mentioned. I mistakingly thought Joe Rogan had a little bit of intellectualism. Joe Rogan revealed he is a highlighted example of a pseudo-intellectul.

Muhammad Ali was a far cry from crazy. A small inside circle of individuals ( who Joe Rogan obviously has never been privy) at that time knew as a fact what was Muhammad Ali's real intent. Muhammad Ali was a marketing genius. Ali's astoundinly contrived ingenious theatrics with bizarre antics was a strategic method to attract increase of magnitude in enormity of international interests for the Heavyweight Championship fights. It was a monetary marketing strategy to bring THE BIG MONEY to the Heavyweight Championship fights. IT WORKED. And Muhammad Ali laughed all the way to the bank. Intimidating the next and future opponents was secondary. Sonny Liston wasn't intimidated by Muhammad Ali. Sonny Liston perceived Ali's theatrics as irritating distractions. Sonny Liston became intimidated the beginning of the first round. When he found out basically he could only swing his boxing gloves at air not hitting Muhammad Ali. While Muhammad Ali was battering Sonny Liston's head with a barrage of punches.

Name me another figure in history that has sacrificed everything at the level Ali had it simply to make a statement like that.

You're right, jib. His blood pressure wasn't considerably higher than normal from most boxers before a fight. Those were all "concerted" (meaning more than one person involved) efforts staged theatrics and antics by Muhammad Ali and his corner even while sitting in his chair until the bell rang. Muhammad Ali's theatrics with bizarre antics were contrived tactics and strategy to increase the magnitude from international interests in Heavyweight Championship fights. More interests more money brought into Heavyweight Championship fights. Muhammad Ali brought the BIG MONEY to the Heavyweight Championship fights. Ali was never recognized truly a marketing genius. And he laughed all the way to the bank. Muhammad Ali said racist White people would be filling up the seats at ringside. Calling him the N-word and other racial epithets. Muhammad Ali said that's good. They're sitting in the most expensive seats paying a lot of money foolishly hoping I get knocked out. LOL

Ali’s psychological crap did not work when he fought Henry Cooper. Henry ignored the clowning and waited, then he hit Ali with his infamous left hook and Ali was out for the count. The bell saved Ali another 3 seconds and Henry wold have won by a KO, ALI changed his attitude dramatically after that. Gone was the fooling around, Henry was a great boxer but his Achilles heel was his eyes, the scar tissue around his eyes would bleed and often could not be healed during a fight. Ali won the fight when it was stopped due to Henry’s eyes bleeding. But he never forgot the time that he walked into that fabulous left hook of Henry Cooper.

Why do they even compare Ali to the bigger guys of the 90s, it means nothing, its nonsense shifting fighters around and out of their respective times . If Ali had been competing at his very best during the Lennox Lewis era of heavier weights he would be equally and naturally heavier himself through evolving. With the same skills or even better the Ali we knew would have the additional benefits of improved training methods /equipment/ diet, better nutrition and modern drugs. By contrast if fighters of the '90s were competing in the '60s' 70s they would be smaller and lighter in weight, methods of training and diet etc would be subject to those earlier times. So If the fighter of the 90s has grown bigger and stronger through evolving and better everything else then we must also reverse standards when we take them back to compete in the '60s.

That’s what make Ali so popular .. everything he said would have made him just a curious figure to remember if he didn’t make good on his crazy promises to beat Liston, to beat Foreman, and everyone else he conquered. Oh please..Ali beat almost a prime Foreman ..who I agree was a little injured and off his game that night. But that version of Foreman would have smoked Lennox Lewis in his sleep. So Ali is probably the greatest heavyweight of all time. The only other person is Foreman himself. Not that highly overrated and boring Lennox Lewis.

Joe Rogan doesn't know what he's talking about. He needs to shut up and stitch his lips shut. He has absolutely no inside information. Muhammad Ali's theatrics was an intentional ingenious devised method of advertising at the outset he didn't reveal. Which manifested Muhammad Ali was a genius in marketing. His principal intent for the phenomenal theatrics was devised to exceedingly increase the international attention to Heavyweight Championship. A marketing strategy to create BIG MONEY to the Heavyweight Championship fights in the entire world. AND HE DID IT. Intimidation was secondary.
