I get people not thinking Belal is exciting, but lets be real, most WW champs in the past decade were boring. Leon is a boring fighter (doesn't let his hands go), Colby most of the time is boring, Usman's fights against Woodley/Masvidal 1/Leon 2/ Leon 3 were all boring af, GSP towards the end was boring, Woodley had 2 of the worst title fights ever against Wonderboy and Maia. The only exciting champion at 170 since i've been watching was Lawler

I don’t like Joe trying to talk about the “casual” fans. The “casual” fans are what keeps the lights on. I hate when people act like MMA fans are the best. The “hardcore” MMA fans are the ones that pirate the fights. The “hardcore” MMA fans are the ones that almost pushed Jon Anik out of MMA, but for some reason the “hardcore” MMA fans think the UFC’s every move is ok their interest. You “hardcore” MMA fans don’t deserve a crumb. The “casuals” are quite literally the reason this combat sport thing still somewhat thrives.

So true about the peole who are constantly commenting disrespectfully. That saying about "You'll never meet a hater doing better than you" is super true. I see it even in myself. If I'm in some "ugly mood" I know it's cause I ain't currently healthy-minded and transferring that energy by being needlessly slanderous would be straight up cowardly on my part.

The problem is that most modern day UFC fans are so casual that they can’t appreciate martial arts, so when someone like Belal fights, they think he’s boring. Is he corny? A bit. Is he elite as an MMA practioner? He’s a top 3 p4p behind Jones and Islam.

I’m not going to lie I doubted Belal, but who am I to judge. I did say thought that his type of style is a dangerous style for anyone in the division. There’s a saying “Fatigue makes all men cowardly”. Much respect to him I see him defend the belt a couple of times. Say what you want, but do you know how hard it is to finish someone at the highest level? If it was easy everyone would do it. Js 🤷🏻♂️
