Thanks for yet another great edutainment video J. When we want to slow down the growth of cut tulips we put a small pin hole at the base of the flower.
@LifeinBloom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim- and thanks for the comment- and allowing me to offer some input- the research from Chrysal Americas- proves that the little pin hole technique- actually shortens the vase life of the tulip by 30%... and what it does - is circumvents the vascular process- and thus deprives the bloom of nutrition and hydration... so it's NOT a preferred method- and not really good for the flower... Just wanted you know- and that's why I cannot advocate that particular technique... thanks for the opportunity to respond... I appreciate the opportunity to share the science behind this technique! Have a Flower Filled Day!

They last a long time and every couple of days I repurpose them to smaller and smaller vases. I am an equal opportunity vase user in my house (quite the crystal collection from estate sales!). Thank you for all this useful information. Please tell me, do lilies "kill off" other flowers in mixed arrangements ?
@LifeinBloom2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mariola- Happy to help- NO Lilies do not harm any other flowers in mixed arrangements- the ONE flower you need to worry about is "Daffodils" or Narcissus... they do indeed secrete a sap that is harmful to other flowers- however- you can simply add a CBVn Tablet (available at uBloom.com/buychrysal ) and that will allow you add Daffodils to a mixed spring arrangement- back to your original question- again- NO HARM with mixing Lilies with other flowers... Happy New Year!

People used to think pounding woody stems helped them take up more water, quickly. Actually all that does is damage their vascular systems, which delays their ability to take up water. Plants have vascular systems just as humans have arteries & veins ; arteries & veins distribute vital nutrients to plants, just as they do for humans.

What is the difference between the lilac flower packet and what comes in cellphone sleeves of flowers? What happens once the lilacs are put into water with the regular flower booster or vice versa? Sorry for the delay in the questions but I am still trying to catch up on so many of your vids over the days/weeks/months/years🥰
@LifeinBloom3 жыл бұрын
Chrysal Secret Recipe- but it works well for the LILACS... it comes on the bunches from Amsterdam- as they don't have the LILAC food here in the USA... With all Flower Nutrients- You should treat for the weakest Link in the arrangement... if your arrangement has roses- treat the water for Roses... if it has Bulb Flowers treat for bulb flowers... once you have processed the LILAC in the LILAC food- they will do well in the Chrysal Professional 3... that's the best UNIVERSAL Food- for all flowers!
@joonkorre10 ай бұрын
@@LifeinBloom hello, I'm new to floristry and i found this video very helpful! just a question, what do you mean by "weakest link" and what are other flowers in that category?
@LifeinBloom10 ай бұрын
@@joonkorre More Delicate Flowers- are the Weakest Link... so if you have a vase filled with Roses, Carnations and Chrysanthemums you would treat for the ROSES- and Use Rose Pro Solution or Professional Three... if you had tulips in that same vase- I would use Bulb Food- as it works well with Roses- and Tulips... so you treat for the flower that is the most delicate and benefits from the Speciality Food! I hope that answers your question!

Hi J. Thank you so much for this all important video, I enjoy watching all you videos & learning from them. Have a question though - After processing do you put them in the coolroom? If not imediately, when please?
@LifeinBloom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jannie- Thanks for the question... When I have the option I would put them in the cooler for about 6 hours... minimum- but I don't have a cooler here at the house (YET...it's on my bucket list)... But I keep them in the basement or garage.. our basement is about 58-60 degrees- and when it's not 0 Outside I will use the garage... I have a temp gun- so as long as it says abover 32˚f - it's good... that is the hardening process... and that will make them last even longer... Great Question and Thanks for asking my friend!

Thanks for this video. Why didn't you put the tulips in water to transport them home?
@LifeinBloom3 жыл бұрын
Two Reasons... I didn't have room in the bucket- and didn't want them to get crushed... and Secondly- because they were already DRY- they hadn't been in water... so a little more time out of water - they would be ok... Hope that is helpful Elizabeth- thanks for the question my friend!

Thank you for taking the time to comment Adhirai... I'm glad you like the videos... I put everything into a box... and I do indeed compost the green waste, recycle items that can be... and then if anything is left- it goes into the waste bin... I don't take time to do it on set... we also do it with all of our productions... we also ensure that our left over flowers go to hospice and sr centers and similar facilities when we are able... I appreciate your concern and know that I am on it... THANKS again!

My Friend EC (Anonymous q) - brought up a Good Question- as to why I referenced certain Music- in this video- as not being suitable for flowers? It's a great question and has nothing to do with my own personal music preferences- but rather a Rutger's University Study- that proved that Acid Rock or Heavy Metal Music was actually detrimental to plants- and would over a period of time- kill the plant because of the vibrations in the music- in the same study- they found that Classical Symphonic Music- would cause plants to sprout new growth and even bloom... I just wanted everyone to know- that my comment was not about personal taste of music- but the actual Scientific finding about which music is better for Flowers and Plants... I hope that provides valuable additional information... Have a Flower Filled day my friends!

Good day teacher. How do you deal with Rose wilt
@LifeinBloom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for joining in the premiere today Deborah- Again here are the steps... 1. Fill your buckets with COLD Water- and Chrysal Hydration Solution 2. Cut your rose at 45˚ angle and place into the Hydration solution for 3 hours 3. After 3 hours- recut the stems and place into Chrysal Professional 3 4. When placing your flowers- keep from drafts, direct sunlight, heat sources- like furnaces, heaters or radiators... 5. Always be sure to buy the FRESHEST roses possible... 6. The Absence of Quality Flower Nutrients in the water- can cause bacteria build up in the water- and cause wilt more quickly- using a High Quality Flower Food Additive- will make sure your flowers last longer for you - I hope this information is helpful my friend!

So I'm a punk girl. The only music we listen to in my house and even greenhouse is punk, metal, and thrash music. My Flowers and plants love it. So to say that all flowers and plants don't like that kind of music is not just silly but erroneous. Just saying
@LifeinBloom2 жыл бұрын
It was a study done by Rutgers University - in the 90s... I was simply quoting the study- not making a judgment... they found that Plants preferred Classical over any type of Music- and if the decibel level was too high- or the tension of the music was to great- it caused them not to thrive... I'm only reporting... the study- NOT making a judgement call!
