Here's a short video discussing essential backup gear to have on-hand while DJing weddings. After many years of being a wedding DJ based in CT, I've put together my perfect package of DJ equipment that seems to get me out of any unexpected situation I may have. I hope you enjoy and please leave me some comments about what you may have in your gig bag that I don't have in mine. Thanks!

Yes I agree with you regarding helping other vendors who are unprepared. There was one videographer who needed to patch in to my mixer to capture the speeches but he didn't have the cable but I had mine. In the end it was about teamwork

DJ Noy that’s what separates a well seasoned DJ that cares about repeat business and the fly by night that doesn’t give 2 shits. most Customers have no clue if their consumer grade equipment is compatible with pro equipment. even if they did know most of them probably wouldn’t know how to solve the problem especially if the equipment isn’t on site yet.

I couldn't agree more about making everything work even if someone else is not prepared. My focus is making the event the best it can be. I will help anybody anytime any way I can. Especially if it's audio. I guess doing live sound and playing in bands before djing has taught me about being ready. I always have my ipad open and ready with all the same music i need for the night just in case. It has saved my butt more than once!

great video! I had to start bringing a bag with paper towels and a regular towel. I opened a soda bottle right before the guest arrived and forgot it had been shaking around the tote , luckly I turned from the controller when I opened it and spray and fizz everywhere. So I would say towels,but no doubt you've probably thought of that

@@JSEntertainmentCo we will be looking forward to seeing what changes you have made. I like your attitude, I always bring plenty of cables, extra batteries, cell phone cables and power strips at events and booths, people are always and what we do to help make the event successful does not go unnoticed. I was just at an event over the summer at a park, the DJ who is a good friend of mine had his gear there and the city forgot to unlock the power box. Fortunately I had my battery powered Amplivox sw915 digital travel partner handy and saved the day.

@JoeBunovsky great video , practical information well presented, i really liked your idea of using a sennheiser transmitter kit tx/rx kit in reverse to overcome the dreaded long runs and doorway/access issues, what are your systems UHF or VHF ? The only thing i couldn't see that hasn't been mentioned below (torch/earplugs/swiss knife mentioned already) were cable ties (zip-ties? you may call them) i usually have a CO2 and a first aid kit too, thanks for the video !

I loved the video and I really like your kit, if only I could suggest something it is to have some 240v adapters and maybe a piece of wire with a female plug on one end and just bare ends on the other so that, in case of extreme emergency you can wire your own outlet off of whatever plug or panel they have on site, not something i would do every week but it has saved my ass multiple times when everything available was 3phase industrial power

You mentioned the tent situation where you have to share a breaker with the lighting, kitchen staff etc. You then said that you had a solution and went into how to use a wirelss mic to make a wireless speaker? But if its a powered speaker youd still need to get power to it and that doesnt address the sharing of a breaker. Was hoping you had some amaxing solution but i didnt hear it

Why use Speakon Connector for AC Power.
@JSEntertainmentCo
@JSEntertainmentCo 3 жыл бұрын
Although very similar they are not Speakon connectors. They are PowerCon connectors which are locking as well and the way the quad's are build, you can daisy chain them together or choose different lengths of cord. They come in handy when producing live stage events for laying down power to different sections of the stage.

The quad power connector was a good idea, I however did something a bit different, I purchase a six wires flexible cable from Amazon, and a 10 plug under cabinet power strip, opened the power strip, and wired the cables to different sections, on the other end I installed the male power plugs, and I connect them to different sockets on my dj table power strip box, now I can control different lights, on and off with the flip on a switch... yes I know DMX right?, well DMX is great for many things, but for light with gobos or laser, is better to keep them running on sound, so I need it a way to shut them off at will.Great Video BTW.the quad power connector was a good idea, I however did something a bit similar, the quad power connector was a good idea, I however did something a bit similar,

You put a 20amp outlet on a power cord that’s 15amps. That’s going to cause overloads
@JSEntertainmentCo

Not sure how you figure that. The only thing that causes an overload is an overload. If you choose the correct length and guage cord for the job, the rating of the plug matters not.
