A bit more detail in battery department would have been good, Pixel 9 lasts around 20% longer than iPhone 16 based on my usage. Very impressive. And camera, for stills it’s no competition whatsoever.

I mostly agree with everything the KZbinr said in this video about the Pixel 9. The iPhone 16 is a slight iteration, but the Pixel 9 is a major step up in form factor and when it comes down to just the making, build, and features, especially Gemini, the iPhone basically just doesn't stand a chance, IMO✨✨

The iPhone sells 10X as many as the Pixel, so standing a chance is a stretch. As for AI, for the 5% that care, you can get Gemini AI on the iPhone but not Apple Intelligence on the Pixel. As for design, I suspect 0% buy a phone based on design, as most of us slap a case on.

No action button on the pixel, but you can double tap the back of the phone to do things like turn on flashlight or launch camera or some other things. You can also change what holding the power button does and you can have 2 action type buttons on your lock screen.

@JSLReview can't speak for other android devices in general as I haven't had one in ages but my pixel 9 pro gave me some headache. When I had 2 Sims i.e. 1 physical and 1 e SIM my messages wouldn't process and they would come very late, too many stutters and buggy software and unresponsive touch at times. Just overall experience wasn't there. They should refine the software and work on putting in a flagship chip.

@Conannnnn I still have these problems with my Pixel 8 Pro. Poor RAM management is another, but slow notifications are also an issue and are still buggy. For example, when I unlock it, it usually looks like it is unlocked, but you have to swipe again to use it. Sadly, it will be my last Pixel.

Sorry to hear that. Since i moved from iPhone to Pixel 6 the phone hardware has gone better each year and the software has been slick and bug free. Recent iOS has been full of bugs.

I was initially waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, but I came across an excellent deal here in Greece offering the Pixel 9 brand new for only 530 euros. Having never owned a Google phone before, I was a bit uncertain about making the switch. However, after watching numerous reviews and seeing comparisons with both the iPhone 16 and Samsung S24, all for 400 euros less, I decided not to miss the opportunity. I’ve had the phone for three days now, and I’m thoroughly impressed. Perhaps it’s because I upgraded from the Samsung S21, but it’s truly remarkable-very fast, with excellent cameras and a sleek design. I’m still waiting for the S25 Ultra, and if I like it, I’ll consider upgrading, but for now, the Pixel 9 is more than satisfying.

even the pros don't use 120hz all the time. insta and twt scrolling is 90hz and even system animations don't go to 120hz for too long. a one plus feels much smoother than a IP14pro

I am curious which one is better for long term ownership and value? Will the iPhone's hardware last 5-7 years, while Pixel's will fail long before the promised 7 years of updates? So far I have been Pixel user, but they always die due to hardware failures after a few years.. and I am wondering whether its not time to try iphone. I assume Gemini can and will be downloadable and can be integrated into iphone instead of siri - it's in Google's best interest after all.. and Apple will catch up anyway so its down to which one is more durable long term?

Don't you have to pay for Gmail and other Gemini AI features? In the UK I have to pay at least £80 a year for the Gmail integration and access to many Gemini Advanced features. It is £19 a month for the full Generative AI model. It is all free on the iPhone.

Photos come out 9 of 10 better on iPhone no matter what the circumstances. It isnt even a close comparison. I love Samsung but the shutter lag still exists. Moving kids photos are almost impossible along with moving dogs.

What a shame to see an Apple device costing 799 buck without 120Hz in 2024. I hope this is the last year of 60hz on base iPhones. Another point is AI, Gemini is way better...for this year Pixel wins, if next year Apple adds 120hz and improve AI, if Google still using weak SoC and not Snapdragon Elite, for sure iPhone 17 would be better.

For many people, 120Hz is just one feature, and they do not care about it as much as the tech YT bubble. In fact, on my iPhone 15PM, I would rarely use 120Hz, as it makes very little difference for the apps I use, as I do not play games. In fact, I have animations turned off, as they affect my eyes. I understand the iPhone 16 is the best-selling iPhone currently and, despite only being released for a few months, may still be the best-selling phone of 2024! So maybe people do not care as much as you about AI and 120hz?

Iphone has built in sleep noises. Where is Samsungs? Also the ability to use a timer to stop playing music. Why is that not incorporated into samsungs timers? I set a timer for 3 hours on iphone using KZbin music. I can set it for aa long as i want. Then stop playing music when timer is up. Some things i find hard to believe.
