I keep hearing the same thing about J.J. that he has a great basketball mind but no coaching experience. How does a "great basketball mind" get experience if no one takes a chance on him. 😁I agree he's a gamble, but we had "experienced coaches" and have taken assistant coaches and many of them didn't work out so well. I agree, it's the fit that matters ... and if they know how to make in game adjustments and knows how to call a freakin timeout. 😅😜

Max Christie is definitely one of the players i'd like to see back next season along with J. Vanderbilt. Hopefully whoever is the Lakers head coach next season will have sense enough to play max meaningful minutes.

It should be. But i also think it's difficult to gauge based on the head coaches that are available. Do the Lakers take a chance on someone with experience but little to show for it? Someone with no experience but a great mind? Or something in the middle.

Lakers need to keep MC, he's a very good and young athletic versatile 3&D wing player, which the Lakers most desperately need for next season. Put him in the 2nd unit, and let him progress until he gets the nod for a starting role, whether it's to fill in for a starter, or strictly just to see who he fits better with. Also, Christie isn't ball-dominant: he doesn't need to have the ball in his hand to be effective offensively, and easily scores off of rim cuts and spot up 3s. He's also a very underrated defender in my opinion, plus he has the reach, height and speed to bother other ball-dominant guards. As for the coaching job, despite Borrego having more experience, all his teams were bottom 10 on both ends, which the Lakers CANNOT afford to be. I think JJ Reddick might be your best option between the 2.

Dumb as a rock Darvin Hamm wasted Max's talent by restricting his playing time during the regular season and didn't play him at all in the playoff series against Denver!!!! THANK GOD HE'S GONE!!!!
