Thanks Jen for showing the bust adjustment on the unusual bodice. The second tool would be good for cutting out stencils and templates.

:)) This was a fun one!! ... I love that little ceramic blade, it's so sharp to get into tight corners!! Thanks for watching

That second cutting tool is great. Not fiddly like the first one. Thanks for reviewing cool tools for us, Jen.

Thanks for the tutorial. I really liked the second tool. I’m at home recovering from surgery to remove gallbladder. Spent from Tuesday until Saturday in hospital. I have long 10 inch incision under my right breast. Doing great. Thanks for prayers.

So happy to hear you're recovering nicely!! Still sending prayers for 100% back to fab!

For the first time I purchased a tool/toy (the slice tool) without researching it at all. It arrived this morning and I tried it out on a pattern I am altering to fit. It worked well - didn’t particularly like slicing scotch tape and paper. That said it’s really useful.

Sorry about your experience! I think these cutting pens are good for small projects and tight corners... I would still use my rotary cutter to cut out full size patterns. Thanks for watching

@ Hi Jen - still loving the new toy. Yesterday, I put together a PDF pattern where you have to trim two sides and then tape the pages together. Together with a flexible ruler it was awesome, like having a hand held paper guillotine or trimmer. I did try to use it for cutting my assembled pattern - you are correct, it’s best to use a rotary cutter or scissors.

Hi Jen, I don't know if anyone commented by the different blades are used for different thickness of paper (or card etc) that you are cutting. For lighter weight paper you use the more acute angled blade, for cardboard or something you use the more obtuse blade. The progressive angle of the blades leaves more of the sharpened edge of blade to have contact with the surface. Also, you will find you can get a better intricate cut with the acute blade. Hope that made sense, I am not sure if I explained it well.

Yay... thank you for sharing this... that makes total sense! The downside to the Slice Pen is that the ceramic blade is very "short"... so you could use it to score cardboard... but it's not long enough to cut through thicker things! Thanks for watching

Thank you for the vou for video Jennifer. I'm wondering what is the advantage of these types of tools over exacto knives?
@JSternDesigns7 күн бұрын
That's a great question. I think the Slice Pen and and an exacto knife work very similarly... because they a have a static blade. The one with the interchangeable blades has a blade that rotates 360 degrees... I thing that would be an advantage for curvy lines... I didn't like it, but that doesn't mean it's a bad option... I feel like if you really need a tool to cut like this, spending time to practice with it will make it easier to use. I have noticed that I'm better at keeping the Slice Pen on the line I'm trying to cut the more I use it! Hope this helps, Thanks for watching

Oh, that first one frightens me, too many moving parts but the second one may be very helpful. Okay, I have a fascination with cutting tools since forever and especially those able to cut into small areas😂. Thanks for sharing, Jen✂️🪡🧵😊

It’s so much fun to play around with new tools!! (I did find the first one a little hard to work with... but if I "practiced" with it, it might get easier!) Thanks for watching!

That cutter is the first improvement on an Xacto knife ever seen. I’ve not used the latter on my fabric cutting board for fear of damage. Would you say it’s less damaging than an Xacto Nike blade?
@JSternDesigns7 күн бұрын
I do think it's a little less aggressive than an Xacto knife... but Honestly, I don't have a ton of experience with Xacto knives... Rarely need to use them... but after trying the Slice Pen, I keep that on the ready for tight shapes on my paper pattern pieces that a rotary cutter won't get to!
