Only once did the traveler have a voice, while we were getting the power back in Redwar EDZ. It sounded like an echo of species. A recording. It echoed like the witness but in a child's like voice. And so I still believe it's a construct, housing/transfering the gardener essence. Make sense why it would have purity inside--what ghost said in first TFS mission

​@@erikreyes42Thorn was never a random drop afaik. It was originally one of the exotic bounties that ended by doing a special version of Phogoth. Then it came back in rise of iron. Then it came back again in D2 during Season of the Drifter. I could be wrong but I genuinely don't remember it being a random drop ever.

Cayde came back because of a wish not because of the Traveller. The Traveller doesn't want to be served or want people worshipping it. It just likes giving out gifts and fostering community. It doesn't want service in return.

I agree. with the speaker being such an important character youd figure theyd want him to stick around for the final shape as a way for the traveler to communicate to our guardians and come up with the best possible outcome of kicking the witnesses ass cheeks. plus thats another vender we can have in the tower for missions, bounties, items etc etc.

Now that I think about it; If the guardian wasn't a looting God slayer, they'd probably make a better speaker. During the red war, the guardian was able able to receive a vision from the traveler, while lightless and the traveler was suppressed. As well, there has been missions since where the traveler has guided the guardian to new abilities and exotics.

He wasn’t just a normal human, normal humans only live for 250-300 years. the dark age/city age lasted for 700 years before our guardian even woke up. The Zavala trailer shows us the Speaker with Shaxx and Saladin meaning he was alive when the iron lords broke up the warlords and everyone officially became “Guardians”. The battle of Twilight Gap and the Moon invasion was 300 years before our revival. So he lived even longer than that particular event…

Bro the speaker was goated. Miss the old days of destiny. Light fall is legitimately depressing to play if you were there in the beginning. Super bummed that Destiny 2 red war was taken out, lost so much content in 2 it’s abysmal. Destiny 1 was the prime era from Crotas End to Taken king though. (Edit) After the Final shape there are a lot of mixed feelings. I do appreciate the sentiment shown for the roots of destiny. The sacrifice made by our beloved vanguard was a good one. I finally started to enjoy crow as a character in the storyline. And above all it gave me just a little hope that we can have something as good as the invasion of Oryx again. Keep you heads and your eyes up Guardians, the future could be a bright one. Although if the new development between Saint 14 and Osiris tells us anything, it’s that the future isn’t looking good for us old halo/Titans players. Sweet baby INC has infiltrated bungee and rotted it from within. May god have mercy on us all

Iirc there are people who had a strong connection to the light long before the Collapse and could communicate or hear the traveler in their dreams. Since the Traveler went quiet after the collapse however they could no longer communicate with the Traveller. The mask that the Speaker wears is actually a tool that amplifies the signal from the Traveller allowing the Speaker to hear the Traveller’s dreams.

Appearantly the mask helped him actually understand the traveler, but when he listened, all he could hear was agony and screams. He was the speaker though, and as not to terrify everyone, he chose to make things up, so he could keep inspire, motivate, and lift everyones spirits when they needed it most. As to why the traveler was in pain, i don't know much anymore, it had to do with the fact that it was "stuck" in place with humanity, and couldn't go anywhere. (i think?) There may have been more to it, but as of right now i rlly don't know anymore.
