+May Donnelly If you watch Jessica perform ''The Prayer'' previously, not just on season 11, but also at the PBS Memorial day concert she finished the same way, why do people automatically assume she wanted to change the ending here? The question should be does the way Jessica interoperates the song at the end better suit the song than the original, for me it does, the way Jessica caresses the mic at the end pays better reverence to a song, besides Jessica had already hit the high note on unequalled measure midway through so doing at the end probably would not have worked so well. I only see a very small minority that aren't happy about the way Jessica sung the end, these are probably traditionalists who think that a song should be a carbon copy of the original, but music would get very boring and repetitive if all artists thought that way.

Jessica Sanchez was by far the best female vocalist that American Idol ever had . It was so odd that after watching the final show I could not remember 99% of the prior contestants names.
