When I went to see Ry Cooder one time at the Bottom Line NYC, on the other side of a pillar from me, were sitting James Taylor and Carly Simon, James and I kept looking at each other during Ry's show marveling at Ry's amazing virtuosity we were like two kids grinning from ear to ear..

Ry got chops. I saw him with his first tour with Flaco in '75 at Bottom Line. Turned my brother into a believe that night.
