JPM won a race his rookie season in both Nationwide and Sprint Cup- Very few NASCAR drivers have done that. JPM is the only driver that has got Ganassi into a chase in 18 attempts, 2 cars 9 years!. JPM turned down offers to stay in NASACR, instead he was given an opportunity to run with the most successful Indycar team in history- no other NASCAR driver in history has done that nor would they have the opportunity to. JPM not only won a race in his first Indy season in 14 years- he won the fastest 500 mile race EVER RUN IN RACING HISTORY! JPM is a world class driver his accolades go on on and on..... Sure that makes him a target of the ignorant!

Tom Gould He's won the Indy 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix. How many NASCAR drivers have done that? In 2009, he finished 8th in the NASCAR point standings--ahead of Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, and Matt Kenseth...and WAY ahead of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Montoya can drive on ovals, too. A lot of the guys in NASCAR wouldn't last 20 laps at Monaco.

You know, IMO, like Danica Patrick, Juan Montoya has untapped potential that needs to be met in Cup racing, I feel. Also, like Danica, Juan needs to stop racing boneheaded, and start using his brains as much as his talents. Juan and Danica both crash WAY more than they should be.

Z D Nascarperson HA! You're timing is terrible they were just caught AGAIN during the Allstar. The 48 and cheating go hand in hand. Chad has been busted how many times? 5 or 6? been suspended even. There is even video and audio evidence of their cheating. Chad has told Jimmie more than once to 'crack' the front or rear end of cars after a race [if they should win]. You'd have to be blind not to see how much the 48 team cheats.

thatguyonstage Still. People hate him because hes good. I don't like him, but i have no reason to hate him. He just wants to race, he doesn't cheat, his team does. And ive seen that video of the 2011 Talledega Fall race in which Chad said that. Its the garage people who decide what to do with the car. And I know, NASCAR is a "Team sport". (I say team because its not very teamful at all)

JPM fan here. Depressing video... :) Pretty fair assessment, especially in the early seasons. I forgot how much JPM caught on fire even before the jet dryer incident lol. From 2009 on though he improved greatly and came pretty close to winning 4 oval races. Indianapolis was a thorn in his side and he almost won Richmond and Dover in his last season. I think he pretty much did as well as he could considering the team. Ganassi has had moments of speed over the years, but never seem to hang on to it. The way Kyle Larson is running right now is a prime example after having a great 2014. Larson would no doubt be a Cup winner by now if with a better team, and I think JPM would have had more success in his later Cup years as well with higher tiered team.

+Axell Rosas She'll never win, it's a safe bet. She's been involved in racing at the pro level since 99 and her lone achievement is a fuel mileage fluke win in a split field race with only 18 drivers. If she was only able to beat a pathetic field of under 20 only once in her entire pathetic career what makes you or anyone else think she'd stand a chance against a field of 40 with collectively WAY more talent than any of the fields she faced in open wheel? She is nothing but a mid-pack, less-than-mediocre, marketing machine and she has zero business at the highest level of North American motorsport. She should be in ARCA with the has-beens, and children.

She should put the apron back on and stay in the kitchen cause she sure as hell cant handle 200mph cars or know where to make adjustments and how much to adjust when loose or tight. I can't blame Juan for all this because the Ganassi cars have never been really top tier cars. One thing for sure though is everyone needs to understand how good Kyle Larson is going to be. He outperformed everyone that has ever driven for that team with the exception of Sterling's last year and that was a career year for Sterling. I have been on motorcycles for over 50 years and one thing I learned early on is that it is easier to go to faster equipment than it is to adjust to heavier slower stuff.

You are highlighting one drivers wrecks and calling him "one of the most destructive drivers in racing history" but what you are really doing is singling him out scrutinizing him and cherry picking incidents that only he has been involved in, however Juan Montoya does not even have an unusually high incident rate as a nascar driver when compared to everyone else in that sport. you have to take into consideration the number of races, the number of laps they do and the amount of close racing at that level, bumper to bumper and fender to fender at 200 mph. It's nascar and contact happens between the drivers several time each race. If you really do your research and look at the incident rates of each driver at any number of websites with that kind of information, like (Jayski's) or (USA Today Nascar Crash Data) to name a couple, and study it, you would see that Montoya is more in the middle and there are drivers in that series who are far more prone to be involved in wrecks than Montoya. In Montoya's first season in Nascar, he was involved in 12 on track incidents while David Ragan was involved in 23 that season. in 2009 Montoya was involved in 8 incidents while Sam Hornish Jr. was involved in 20. Jimmie Johnson was involved in 6 and Jeff Gordon was involved in the very least with 4 that season. You should do more research and then make a compilation video for each driver. there would probably be at least twenty other nascar drivers with more than 60 incidents over the same seven seasons.

dont get me wrong, i hate JPM, but if your gonna call him the most destructive driver, and upload video parts to prove it...make sure theyre all crashes he caused. showing crashes that he was a victim in, doesnt make him destructive

I have a lot of respect for Juan Pablo for winning F1 and Indycar championships, and then come to NASCAR and at first do ok, but he sucks.

You might want to check the facts because Juan never won an F1 or Indycar championship. He is indeed a race winner in both series, winning arguably each series crown-jewel events [the Indy 500, and the Monaco GP]. Juan's open wheel championship was in CART, and I was there at the track the day he was crowned champion. It was a very sad day because in the same race Greg Moore was killed in horrifying accident... I remember that shit like it was yesterday sadly.

Funny to see people defending Montoya. I am not sure how anyone could possibly think he was anything more than average at any racing level. His average career finishes is 19th (including Indy and F1 finishes) He came to Nascar thinking he would own the sport and the truth is he was subpar at best. 253 NASCAR starts and 59 top 10 finishes and wrecked more cars than just about anyone, ever. Fact is anyone defending him is one of his F1/Indy car fans and he wasn't even at the greatness level in either of those, but because you feel Indy/F1 drivers are the best in the world, which is so not true, your embarrassed because he is yet another failed driver from Indy/F1 who thought he'd own NASCAR. Funny how though the few NASCAR drivers who have raced part time etc in Indy/F1 actually do really well then get bored with it... Bottom line. NASCAR is much more challenging than Indy/F1, period. Get over it, or live in denial, which ever helps you sleep at night lol. Oh and for those who choose denial... one word, IROC. Last none NASCAR driver to win it was in 1979 lol. Have a great day!

You are a funny man. Average don't win INDY 500 or Monaco. racers cant be messured by their average racing finishes. The all mighty Dale Earnhardt averages 23rd on Daytona 500 finishes ie. IROC..please dont make laugh.I do know its complicated to think outside the oval..but. well.
@preston121068
@preston121068 10 жыл бұрын
Spawnwrath hmmm to my knowledge Dale Earnhardt has never raced in open wheel let alone the Indy 500, so either you're delusional of misinformed. As for IROC races, his average finish is 5th. As complicated as it may be to think "outside the box" for you, it seems even more complicated to think within reality. Bottom line is a driver is indeed measured on how well he/she finishes on average. Look at the many who won a big race once in their short careers and vanished from racing just a few short years later... happens all the time, just like the soon to be forgotten Montoya. He couldn't hack it in NASCAR, lost his job and no one else in NASCAR wanted him and I am sure where ever he ends up it will be a few short years before he is forgotten about.

Great Comment. Im an all around fan of Penskes NASCAR drivers in Cup and Nationwide but I follow Keselowski, and holy shit did the fans not like it the other day when it was announced Juan would be running 2 Cup Races and I agree. He'll never score a win on a NASCAR oval imo

JPM was bad but there have been far, far worse. Statistically Danica Patrick is the worst driver in Nascar [currently.] For a bit of perspective JPM wrecked 64 times in Nascar competition. It took JPM 278 stats [between NW and Cup] to wreck those 64 times. Danica has now crashed 67 times and she's done it in just 143 starts.

Quite possibly the dumbest comment ever. JPM with absolutely no stock car experience made it to the Chase after only 3 season regularly finishing races in the top five. Meanwhile "top drivers" like Dale Jr. And many others Didn't make it to the chase and watched from the sidelines. JPM had a mediocre car most of his NASCAR tenure. For a stock car newbie that was dead end street. After making the chase he should have gone to one of the top three teams or moved to Indy. A driver that cake walked to Indy 500, finished every third race on the F1 podium and made it to the Chase after only three seasons should never have been on a midling team for that many years. Ganassi will never win NASCAR title because he won't put RCR or Hendrick money that can triple staff into his own team.

bbodinefan11 Doesn't say very much about the talent level of NASCAR if JPM was worst ever then. He made it to the Chase after only two full seasons of stock car racing (ever) and got up as high as third in the Chase while Dale Jr., Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Clint Boyer, Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski watched "the worst NASCAR driver ever" from the sidelines. Given some of the moving chicanes that regularly come into NASCAR with neither speed nor racing skill and fizzle out after only one season, I find your comment that JPM was the worst ever to be pretty much...well retarded.

Hahahah , none sense , this that guy is nut, I spend 19 minutes of my life with a none sense conspiracy , this is just racing, the same that # 2,18,41,15,31, 48,24,and all the field has to do in order to race, none sense. This video should be block for lack of inconsistency. The only problem of 42 in NASCAR was the poor very poor team he had in NASCAR. CongratJPM
