I’m Dominican and if he said “Pásate!” It doesn’t mean “Get Over.” It means “I dare you” in Dominican lingo. Like he was telling him “I bet you wouldn’t dare” in this case he wouldn’t dare to challenge him or throw him a fastball.

DeLeon, I'm Dominican too. And while you are correct with the lingo, if you rewatch the moment he's saying it, the ball is in the air. No more pitches will be thrown in that at-bat; either it's going over (which is what he and millions of fans were hoping for) or it's getting caught or hitting against the wall.

Juan Soto is cold-blooded. The way he kept spoiling those tough pitches and then delivered the knockout punch in the clutch is absolutely legendary. This is why he’s one of the best in the game

From a casual observer, I feel like Juan Soto brings a lot of value and excitement to the game. He really eggs on the pitcher and it’s exciting to see his visual reactions to each pitch. It may come across as cocky, but if nothing else it’s great showmanship and makes the game more interesting imo

As a Met fan, my favorite at-bat of all-time is Mookie Wilson's in the bottom of the tenth of Game 6 of the WS in '86 against Boston. But Mookie's "hit" was just a "little roller up along first," not this bomb. Don't get TBS so was watching this game on the Spanish channel. I feel the pain of the Clevland fans and am bracing for some possible pain in LA tonight, but if Judge, Stanton, and Soto are locked in, look out.

Everyone makes mistakes if they go long enough. Soto fouled off everything and forced him to keep going until he made one. That wasn't an unforced error. Soto made that happen.

@@Timeisluck2006 Go back and look at that pitch. It was at the very edge of the box. It was the middle of that edge, so sure, middle in that direction. But it was very high, borderline on whether or not it was even a strike. It was supposed to be a little bit higher, so he did miss his spot, but not by much. And not unforced. Soto made him keep going and got into his head. And after that, he very nearly got the ball where he wanted it.

As an Astros fan I knew he was all over this guy. Very similar to the at bat he had against verlander in the ‘19 WS. I saw it in that at bat in ‘19 and I recognized those looks during this at bat. He walked him into that fastball and when he got it, he was all over it. Beautiful.

I love the breakdown. Once Soto knew he could foul off everything that wasn’t a fastball, he knew he had the pitcher right where he wanted him. Maybe if that last fastball had been a little higher it could have gotten by him, but I wouldn’t count on it.

And star players get paid absurd amount of money as it is, so no I don’t think it’s worth sacrificing the competitive nature of the game, and having every other team that’s not one of the high rollers knowing that if they have a good player they will just get bought out year after year, just so they can make even more.

The pitcher was too, but Soto won the battle. He wasn’t giving him anything to hit, and he kept being able to foul them off. Pitcher gets more mistakes, but they cost more, when the hitter capitalizes on one. It’s the type of at bat, that should be coached, as it’s not the homer, but him battling it out, in the postseason.

Greatest AB I’ve ever watched . Juan Soto is a GENERATIONAL HITTER!! Never seen anything like him that IQ and confidence he has is why he’s ALWAYS clutch and the biggest threat to a great pitcher . Yankees are BACK & to stay on top they gotta give him the lifetime deal 💯💵💙

The team that spends the most money buying up all the players makes it to the world series. Truly an underdog story. There are Yankees fans who are 14 years old who've never seen a world series in their hometown.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a batter more focused and in the zone than Soto during that at-bat. You could see it coming.
