I’m Dominican and if he said “Pásate!” It doesn’t mean “Get Over.” It means “I dare you” in Dominican lingo. Like he was telling him “I bet you wouldn’t dare” in this case he wouldn’t dare to challenge him or throw him a fastball.
@Taylor-gb5gf

@@jdeleon5816 that doesn't make sense after he already crushed the fastball though does it?

DeLeon, I'm Dominican too. And while you are correct with the lingo, if you rewatch the moment he's saying it, the ball is in the air. No more pitches will be thrown in that at-bat; either it's going over (which is what he and millions of fans were hoping for) or it's getting caught or hitting against the wall.

@@ShortstopJEsq Agreed. It makes so much more sense to say "Pásate" to the ball, just as Jim was correctly guessing.

But Mookie's "hit" was just a "little roller up along first," not this bomb. Don't get TBS so was watching this game on the Spanish channel. But it was very high, borderline on whether or not it was even a strike. It was supposed to be a little bit higher, so he did miss his spot, but not by much. And not unforced. Soto made him keep going and got into his head. And after that, he very nearly got the ball where he wanted it.

Greatest AB I’ve ever watched . Juan Soto is a GENERATIONAL HITTER!! Never seen anything like him that IQ and confidence he has is why he’s ALWAYS clutch and the biggest threat to a great pitcher . Yankees are BACK & to stay on top they gotta give him the lifetime deal 💯💵💙

...horay, the team that never goes to the world series is going to the world series with a team that isnt a bought superstar lineup. No one could have guessed that a team with Judge, Soto, Stanton, and Jazz would have been any good... What a thrilling victory... ...cant wait to watch... Cant wait to hear the opinion of all the New York residents....

The team that spends the most money buying up all the players makes it to the world series. Truly an underdog story. There are Yankees fans who are 14 years old who've never seen a world series in their hometown.
