There's quite a difference, actually. Banpreios's (and a few others like Excellence Lightning) 120% concerns the generator output and is what most people call overdrive. In clear, 100% is the last limit of the safe zone, any higher is possible but brings a risk of frying/blowing up the whole thing if left like that too long. Meanwhile, DaiRaiOh's 102.3% is machine performance. Touma somehow hit harder, faster and hotter than his mech actually could based on its specs. Like lightning.

The girl who co-pilots Dairaioh with him did said that Their mecha hit 100 percent, and was surprised and it went above that. I’m surprised that Dairaioh didn’t broke down after that.
