I think the reason they were considering it was because this was a deep discussion where some of the contestants were really pouring their hearts out and felt like they were actually connecting with people who understood them. Then when they got eliminated it felt strange because essentially someone was doubting their experience when they were being vulnerable and opening up. That said, the point of the show is the eliminations, so maybe this isn’t the best format for emotionally charged topics. If they want to talk about more emotional experiences they can have a separate segment where they don’t eliminate people or have a mole, just have people share their experiences.

I love how Derek felt the need to justify being skinny. Dude you can own the fact that you worked hard to live a healthier life. It’s not easy and he did it. Why does he need to justify it? I struggle to maintain a healthy life and not fall back into obesity. We should be proud of our accomplishments rather than minimize them to appease others.

Fast forward to 18, I was extremely depressed and gained even more weight than my starting weight. After weighing 252lbs I decided to make a change because I constantly had thoughts of self-harm. Without strict diets or workouts, I lost 70 lbs in less than a year. After losing all of the weight I still struggle with my body image. Not tryna be mean but I don’t really think we should be normalizing people being plus sized and that’s just person opinion, it’s honestly your fault that you’re insecure about your body. You should be putting in the work and change what you feel insecure about that, and just because you think it’s hard doesn’t mean you can’t do it. I’m not tryna be disrespectful in any way but if you really feel bad about your body you should do something about it. You shouldn’t let you mind tell you otherwise
@lagomorphixx Жыл бұрын
it's not normalizing it. it's bringing awareness towards it. no one ever said that being plus sized is healthy. but, there are still plus sized people that are healthy even though they aren't skinny. there are so many factors that play into it. and sometimes it's hard to change your weight because, again, a lot of factors play into it. certain health conditions can make it difficult to lose weight (hypothyroidism runs in my family so its hard for me to lose weight even though i'm active and am eating less and healthier), and there's also how fast someone's metabolism is as well. it all really depends. essentially, it's a lot easier said than done. but i do agree that if someone does truly want that change, they should work for it, but it's not their fault for being insecure. people shouldn't be made fun of for their body, skinny or not. it's extremely rude and can impact someone's mental health.
