Judas had a love for money,..... the bible says 1 Timothy 6:10 for the love of money 💰 is the root of all evil. I think 🤔 this played a part too. He was also a thief. When he complained about the woman pouring the expensive perfume on Jesus preparing him for burial and doing a kind thing for Jesus, Judas complained and said ‘ this could be sold and the money 💰 given to the poor ‘ I’m paraphrasing. But he was the money handler and his intention was not for the poor, he wanted to steal from the selling of the purfume/oil. So I think this plays a big part in this also. I loved it when righteous anger rose up within you about the prosperity gospel. Before I listen to a preacher I always first check their net worth, if they are worth millionnnnnnns, I question why. I mean some pastors/ teachers have written books and profit from the sales and that’s all good, but if they are buying mansions, expensive cars 🚗 ( nothing wrong with having a nice car) but 200 000 for 1 car and they have more than 1, private jets, ok but why do you need 5???? I check all this before I will listen to them. I’m very careful to who I listen too. Now I don’t know this pastor, I just stumbled across him trying to do studies on Judas Iscariot. So just listening 👂 to see if I can pick up anything. One thing I don’t understand was when he was talking about Judas’s suicide and he was saying about how satan would or could have destroyed himself??? Satan is a Spirit. He could have easily left Judas’s body at any moment. I don’t get that what he was saying. Anyway gonna listen to the rest now, unless I descend it’s not of God and not sound biblical teaching. Thanks for reading my comments, God bless you ❤️

Ephesians ch 3. The mystery of GOD's Grace revealed through PAUL. This was never in prophecy, Satan never saw this coming.

At around 14:20, Pastor John shared about Jesus being tempted by satan in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11) and interpreted that as satan trying to stop Jesus from dying on the cross because he knew that Jesus was going to die for the world and save the world. I don't really agree with Pastor John that satan knew about God's salvation plan. He might do guess work from observing mankind and the studying the Old Testament, but he wouldn't know God's plan because he is not God and he is not all knowing. The New Testament was written after all the events have happened (except Revelation). When Peter chided Jesus about dying and Jesus commanding satan to get thee behind Him, it was Peter's human/carnal flesh speaking. Peter obviously did not have the revelation of God at that moment and spoke out of selfishness because he did not want his Lord die. That selfish thought might have come from a demon (many demons call themselves satan so it might not be satan himself present) or from Peters own flesh. I am happy to be corrected if I might be wrong.

very insightful. I also thought perhaps Satan was not necessarily insane, rather, he made the crucifixion as bad as possible in an attempt to get Jesus to sin. Had Jesus sinned once, Satan would win.
@wem-c9f5 жыл бұрын
@Johnny Casteel Insight1318 is not insane. That thought is certainly possible! Satan tempted Jesus thrice in the wilderness to get Him to sin against God. Satan could have made the suffering of Christ so bad that Jesus might decide to call down the angels to save Him. But our Lord is without sin and will do only what His Father will do so He did not. He was obedient to the last moment. Hanging on the cross, do you think the devil would not come and whisper tempting thoughts to Jesus' ears? Why not?

May we add to our prayer list that Piper will not have a bare hind end episode in this last stretch of his ministry. It probably wouldn't qualify under the Shekinah Glory - lol! For there would have to be a word or two missing from the statement, "Well done ...good and faithful servant!" ... We know The Piper is both good and faithful... But we wouldn't want Christ to leave out any of the words. Especially after everything that he has done, and gone through, and is continuing to go through ...with the new era of Internet. (It is amazing how Piper is being persecuted in certain arenas of Christendom).

I refuse to recognize Judas as an disciple of Jesus, it's written he is an sell out. So I don't think we reading from the same book.

Pastor, very careless opening prayer to say the least, "I'm saved because what Judas did." Need to qualify that statement obviously.

Why?

Judas chose evil despite witnessing the mighty works of Jesus and knowing how perfect and sinless Jesus is, and God used that for our salvation? Just as Pharaoh chose evil despite seeing so many mighty miracles of God and God used that for the exodus of the Israelites.
