I believe this show was actually at the Calderone Concert Hall in Hempstead, Long Island , NY (Nassau Coliseum is/was in Uniondale). I was there as a 15 year old and grabbed a Killing Machine poster from the wall on my way out. Because it was around the 4th of July, a large M-80 was thrown by someone in the balcony and exploded near me. Rob even commented on the explosion. I had trouble hearing for several days thereafter, lol, and maybe even until this day. Fantastic show, one of the best of my life.

You don’t have to tell me Ace. I'm freakin' Vinnie Calderone. The city made me shutter the venue after that lunatic singer of theirs shot up the place. Lost two of my cousins that night. Sal and Tommy Two Shoes. Broke my heart. Both were standing right next to me. Clear as day one second. Gone the next. Say a hail Mary they’re solar angels now. God bless ’em. They still haven't found the other shoe by the way. They never do, do they. The fellas give me grief about this old Monopoly shoe hanging around my neck. This is for Tommy. I don’t tell ‘em. True story. Full metal jacket lead singer pulls a machine gun outta nowhere. To this day...this VERY DAY…up and down Long Island...as their wives sleep...as their children come and play with their toys...they argue about how this god forsaken killing machine slipped through all those metal detectors. I didn't tell my wife about it till long afterward. She's a bit skittish when it comes to violence. Didn't want to excite her. Capiche? But women talk. They all found out about it. Ladies pulling out their hair bands over it. TO...THIS...DAY. And we’re not talking some wholesale, “I know a guy”, metal detectors. No. We’re talking top dollar heavy duty Brooklyn Metallican. My opinion? Like a rollin' stone this savage just rumbled through 'em like they were nothin'. Security so in awe they just stood there frozen like mannequinz. Mouthz hanging open like mindless zombies. No matter how they tried they couldn't understand. It was beyond them. So they just gave the man a hand. As if he were a god or somethin’. Some hero. Hero my ass. An hour? Two hours later? I’m hanging out back stage playing dominos with the fellas. We can barely here ourselves over the "music" blasting from out there. All the sudden…bing, bang, boom, POP! Shots ringing out all over the joint. I drop my white hot red coffee mug. Run out there. And holy saints in hell. God as my witness. Blood...everywhere. Blood on the mics. Blood on the Marshalls. Blood on the stained glass. Blood on the lasers, blood on the razors. Sorry the Harleys. There's frigin blood...on the popcorn...Ace. ‘The ultimate in horrors.' You said it. Blood on the seats. Which is hell on the leathers, lemme tell'ya. Not cheap getting that out. Not cheap at all. Blood on the boom tracks. The reviewers from all the rags are dippin' their pens in blood at this point. Some of them dead already. Well, we know the reason why. Karma's a bitch. But I can’t help thinking, holy Berlin, better yous rather than me. OK. Anyway. You get the picture. Total genocide. Dead. Dead everywhere. Half dead. Walking dead. Dead dead. End of story. You get the picture. Moral of the story? Uh, that's a tough one. Gotta gimmie a minute on that... Ok Brent. Here we go. Right. Unless you WANNA get hurt? Right? Like, you're literally cruisin' for a bruisin'? NEVER invite Priest into your town. These freakin'...what's the word I'm looking for. These freakin'...freakin'......invaders. Is essentially what they are. I'm shaking my head right now, in earnest. This is our town. Our lair. They don’t come rollin’ in here in their Caddies, with their hogs, with their axes and their spikes…hell bent on…on.…I DUNNO WHAT. Sorry. Don’t trust ‘em. CAN’T trust ‘em. Can’t win with ‘em. Masqueraders, the whole lot. Keep those boys outta this town. Get the picture? Set the snare. Stop ‘em at the border if you have to. Capice? Ahh, but it's different now. Times change see. Things settle. The sun comes up. The night comes down. Let us prey someday by the safety of the bay. Shall we? Amen to that. Cheers Ace.

This must be before Rob quit smoking, drinking and partying in general. What this song lost by being out of tune (unlike all later JP performances) it makes up x 10 for pure, raw enthusiasm in spades! I really like this version - and excellent pictures too. 👍👍

Great, thanks for the upload! Rob was a real "Tim Brooke-Taylor" from the Goodies lookalike on the UK British Steel tour, these photo's reinforce just how energetic the guys were in their younger years! Musically they're still as good as it gets live, roll on another album, a "back to basics" red blooded British metal album would do nicely, THEN another tour. Thanks for the last 35 years boys!

First concert ever, this tour with Def Leppard, in Corpus Christi TX. I had never heard of D.L. I thought they were called Death Lepper. I remember trying to explain to my buddy what the name meant. So fucking weird how Death ( R.I.P. Chuck) had an album called Leprosy. However, I digress... Priest was beyond amazing. Blew my 15 year old mind and turned me into a fan for life. I wish I still had my Unleashed in the East grey softball jersey with the Tipton red sleeves from the show.
