Arguably my favorite Tipton (and Judas Priest) solo of all time. Thanks so much for posting footage from one of Priest's most underrated tours. This would have been my first show back in Seattle '89 with Slayer opening in support for South of Heaven had it not been for my parents taking the car keys and putting the nix on the whole idea. Looking back, I should've said fuck it and bummed a ride to the coliseum. One of my few regrets...

Rob Halford is probably the only one who could sing this song at all. I don´t think anyone else could pull it off. It takes so much power to do it, and you must sing with full power all the time.

Slayer took over the opening slot a week after I saw the tour in St Louis. Our opener was Cinderella. They took 2 very different bands out with them for this tour.

I was actually at this show. I was front row balcony on the end on Tipton's side. It was by far the LOUDEST concert I have ever been too. This was filmed at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Hollywood Florida on their Ram It Down tour. Cindarella opened for them (they actually put on a pretty good show).

@02tweeks Indeed! They were moving to a more heavier sound at this point. They still did a few of the 80's hits in their set at this time too though. I think 'Turbo Lover' was a regular.. A shame they didn't film and release this tour.

I believe his official classification is a low tenor with a high falsetto. (An EXTREMELY HIGH falsetto!) In his heyday he had nearly 4 octaves at his command.
