The magic of Painkiller album lies on the fact that it's songs doesn't sound like any other songs. Back then it felt like a true Metal Revolution. And that's why it is still being loved so much from the fans.
@izd42 жыл бұрын
Huh? For a 1990 release, I'd say they sound more like they were catching up with the rest of the metal world. Mind you, it's still a Priest record, so no complaints here
@azwris2 жыл бұрын
@@izd4 Don't just reproduce the magazines!!! I am talking about a "feeling" here! Painkiller first listening was an out of space experience in 1990.

@@izd4 Care to elaborate my friend? At worst, I'll have more great albums to listen to !
@izd42 жыл бұрын
@@aleflippy1997 Sure; by 1990, Judas Priest was experimenting with a new extremity - or rather, new for them, as even Power Metal had developed something about as raw five years prior (Helloween - Walls of Jericho). Overall I think Stained Class is my favorite Judas Priest album, nobody has _anything_ on Beyond The Realms Of Death
@aleflippy19972 жыл бұрын
@@izd4 eh... I wouldn't call Painkiller "power metal" at all. It's common for Heavy to delve into classical music to produce complex bridges. It's not merely a Power Metal thing, if anything, they took from it. Rob's vocals have also been high-pitched since the beginning, only softening up in recent years due to how physical it is. Sure, you might say that they rode that speed metal wave. But not only was it still early into the genre's lifespan back in 1990, but one could say that Judas actually invented it. You mentioned Stained Class... That's funny because Exciter is often cited as the first proto-speed metal song. So honestly, I don't really feel like Judas was copying anyone or merely following the trends. They've stuck to their guns, and always did at least until the Nostradamus fiasco... Then they went back to a more tried-and-true heavy formula.
