For people who dont understand and say it wasnt a real 100 man fight.. each guy that faces him has a time limit to inflict as much damage as they can, or if they fall, they are out. The point of this, is to endure and it is both physical & mental. When he's cramped up, his entire body is in pain. He can barely stand but still carry on. Most would have given up way earlier and that is the point of this gauntlet. Not for 100 men to try and KO him. It's extremely rare for ppl to pass this challenge.
@leesamardzija9165 Жыл бұрын
It's probably extremely rare to even be considered worthy of participating. It's casual MMA fans who've never trained a day in their lives that make stupid comments about it not being legit.

Monster. Absolute monster. A lot of people in these comments are posting nonsense. They have no idea the kind of power and skill this man has. Those kicks to the heavy bag, wow. The fluidity, height, power, and speed, for a man of that enormous size, are incredible. Those kicks would break 99.999% of people's unprotected ribs at full power. This man is not fighting his opponents at full power and neither are they. This is akin to full contact point fighting. The smaller and weaker opponents are put at the beginning and the larger stronger opponents at the end. It's designed to be an uphill battle. It's an impossible task that is made attainable through the rule set. The beginning opponents are terrified of him. He's a literal monster. It's not until the monster has been hurt by a thousand cuts that his larger opponents begin to press him further. Did his last few opponents show some leniency? Undoubtedly. Did they still test him past his physical limits in the state he was in? Yes. Did he give up? No. Would his opponents have allowed him to continue, if he showed weakness? No. It would have been disrespectful to their entire way of life if they did. They each tested him individually and found him worthy of continuing to the next opponent and ultimately reaching the end. Undeniably impressive feat.

I train in Kyokushin and will get my black belt this year. I once asked my teacher if he ever considered joining a Hyakunin Kumite and he gave me the loudest, most emphatic "no" I had ever heard from him. He told me stories about others who had tried the Hyakunin Kumite and ended up collapsing on the mat and twitching uncontrollably after fighting around 20 to 40 people, with all of them being sent to the ER and not being able to walk or move their arms for months. My teacher is no slouch - he's one of the most well-respected Kyokushin teachers in China and has won numerous pan-Asian championships - and the mere thought of signing up for one of these made him shudder. So I have nothing but utmost respect for Shihan Reid and how his endurance truly represents the Kyokushin spirit.

9:36 "If everyone did karate all over the world, there'd be no wars because they could just biff it out in the dojo." - a child's idea of what war is. By the time bored, aggressive plebs are arranged in crowds to butcher each other, very rich, hard-faced men have already set up the profits of the outcome. If anything significant was decided by karate fights, those fights would be corrupted by cheating, doping, assassinations, kidnapping, bribery and blackmail. Don't let all the training inflate your head, it's great to refine your spirit, but the winners of wars are ruthless, tricky slobs who strike while their opponents sleep. Worshipping violence is a sign you've completely lost your way.

@@HLGJammer OH, right, NO WAY would that get corrupted and become meaningless. Because karate would make people physically tough and therefore honest and brave LOL. @@HLGJammer There's been less wars and violence in the world for decades now. Martial arts will turn into a stylized exercise people forget was just about destruction. The purity of Kyokushin attracts people who think violence can be meaningful, because it can be very beautiful. Judd Reid is super powerful but imo and thats my honest opinion the Japanese went easy on him. Not saying it was easy but he should have failed if went harder as I could see many of them holding back power. Masatatsu Oyama woulds smashed through bone but he was one of a kind, Filho is much larger but I never watched his full video but I saw some clips and he made it look easy. Again would go through me in no time but I say the truth.

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark on this but I'm pushing 40 and got heavily into karate/self defense after obsessing over Van Dam movies when I was 7. I mention that because when I was around 8 I heard my mom call me from the living room saying "real karate is on!". We didn't have cable so naturally, I could have ran straight through a locked door to see it if I had to. I get there and it's almost over however, I remember this so vividly because I've neither seen nor heard of it since. This guy maybe 25 or 30 was doing a test/show of strength type ceremony to earn either a belt or trophy or it may have been a sword, I'm almost 40 so it's fuzzy but the two things I remember clearly is he looked vaguely American and there was an Asian woman in a kimono presiding over it sat in the middle of a long table. He broke some ice first and then, for the finale and I've yet to understand why to this day, his assistants came to both sides carrying sharp poles with tips at the ends about half a pool cue in length and thickness that had a rope around each one and were both tied to a big ice block each. I sh*t you not, he took his gi off and held his arms out for each assistant to stretch the skin on his forearms out and they each pierced these poles through his skin on each side. They stepped away and the guy lifts the blocks with the poles running through his forearm skin around the elbows and starts slowly turning in a circle doing an intense full load warrior scream. He then set the blocks down and bowed and they took the poles out and knelt and the crowd clapped and the main lady judge person presented him with the reward I mentioned earlier. It's seared into my memory and it was on PBS in the late morning. Heres my question, what in the actual f*ck was that? Is it a test of resolve for a discipline I've never heard of? I know for a fact it was real due to the footage looking exactly like the quality of this video and they only had one camera angle so it wasn't fake..I mean the poles going through and everything just..wow..
