Thanks so much for spreading the love for our game! Apologies for the Steam Deck cutscene trouble! This only happens on some Decks, and it is possible to fix by downloading a version of Proton. It's caused by a lack of video codecs, and I am yet to find a solution to this problem that fixes it for everyone. Again, sorry for the bug and thanks so much for... really understanding what we have lovingly crafted. Everyone, please support Judero and help us make more cool stuff!

Whenever I've had this issue with a game, using a community version of Proton, like Proton GE usually fixes it. It's a little fiddly to set up but well worth it: you switch to desktop mode, install an app from the app repository called ProtonUp, and use that to install it before changing the Proton version over for a game in the compatibility settings. It can display a number of videos that use codecs Valve didn't have the licenses to support properly. Regarding games that don't have this issue with videos, as far as I'm aware they convert their files over to a format that Steam Deck supports (VP9, AV1, etc.) and use those instead, although I'm a little unsure on the process: of the little discussion on it, it seems like Valve can do it for you.

Comparing Judero to Illusion of Gaia is a bold move. And it paid off, because bringing up Quintet's classic games makes my brainworms dance. Incidentally, if you want to get that Quintet SNES energy from a Shin Megami Tensei game, Last Bible III might be what you're looking for. When I was a kid, my mom accidentally got me the gba bionicle heroes instead of the gamecube version. I was a "take what you can or you might get nothing" kid cuz we were poor so I just didn't say anything and sadly played it instead and tried to enjoy what it was. I really hope this comes to consoles as well. I've never been a PC gamer. When I was 13 I did play World of Warcraft throughout 8th grade and that was pretty fun. But that's the most I've ever indulged in it. I know fuck all about what it takes to get your computer optimized for gaming. Just basic use of the god damn thing can feel like a test of patience sometimes. And as a result, consoles are what I'm most comfortable on so if this came to consoles I think it would do exceedingly well.

I recommend you to play darkwood, it's a horror indie game without jumpscares, and if you want a platformer, I'd recommend epic mickey, plus it got a remaster recently
