I think you will find there are more like this judge than not. You can tell by his demeanor that he is about as bland and boring as watching paint dry which is a quality that fits being able to be equal and fair during trials. I sobbed my eyes out listening to her siblings talk about losing her. I am not an overly emotional person but the thought of losing someone that was so integral to your life is just so tragic. The fact that nothing that was said caused that broken boy to shed a tear clearly shows he is unable to feel human emotions. He can never be released.

I read that one of Trystyn's sisters was on her honeymoon when she found out. Just got married, away on a trip, a few days later, her sister is dead from over 100 stab wounds. Every wedding anniversary for her is going to be like a knife through the heart.

I watched the victim impact statements and my heart breaks for this family. My brother was killed in a car train accident 24yrs ago. He was my best friend and you never get over the loss but you learn how to live without them. But it will not be easy. This child's Family is beautiful and the parents raised and are raising amazing children. Mom and dad you definitely are phenomenal parents. My heart will be with you all

@Jabari 2 it may feel that way for you which is fine but for me and my family it feels like yesterday. Especially watching his daughters grow up and their phenomenal father doesn't get to watch. Or for my dad for every time he lays down at night to sleep the visions of identifying him at the Morgue approximately 3 hours after the train crushed his body. To see blood still flowing out. My mom has nothing but flashbacks of her first born son laying in his casket. She is 73 and my dad is 75 so their later years are still grieving the loss of their son. Maybe in private these days but I still see it.

I am happy with the sentencing today. The speech from the Father of Tristyn was very heartfelt and a good closure with moving forward. I fully appreciate the longevity of such trials, however that longevity is so heart wrenching to any family having to live through the constant reminder of their loss on near a daily basis hearing all the evidence - that is so cruel. In such crimes the perpetrator should never ever be set free. The judge was extremely compassionate towards Tristyn's family and friends not just for their loss, but in acknowledging the fact of the time period and the reasons why. Rest easy Tristyn, strength to you family and friends.
