Half way through and I’m just thinking there has to be more to this story……. So mom got a dui 2-3 yrs ago then an FTA bc the summons sent to wrong address and she got 6 months in a rehab facility which meant her special needs child had to go into foster care?!?!? I’m all for keeping drunk drivers off the road but I’ve watched enough court to know that is not typical punishment for a first offender (that’s why I’m thinking there has to be more to this story)!!

Who the heck is in charge of these people..I am disturbed Mother was stuck in this situation. This rehab sounds like something out of a Horror Movie...referring to their Superiors...surely they can find something better...I think it was ridiculous that she could not see the poor child....I sure hope she gets thru this rehab and home....I love the lawyer

I’m worried that it is a religious based locked down facility. Mom seems robotic. I didn’t hear alcohol courses mentioned…just structure and self reflection.

I think I heard her attorney say the rehab was The Potter's House, which is a very strict religion-based facility/program...

Ok….. Im going to rant 5 mins in before watching the rest. Is there any question if a court would tolerate this kind of BS from a parent in one of these cases??? NO!! Showing up to court late, no video and no/crappy audio?!?! And why doesn’t the judge know where this child is placed??

I have such a problem with this case . A 7 month recovery ministry without a drug and alcohol assessment? Did the Spirit tell she was drunk and drugged? Yes, EVERYONE but the Judge appears clueless, but why was Mom sent away without a plan by only a criminal lawyers suggestion? For me , it's the whole separation of church and state tax dollars. If mom is paying tythes to escape jail then okay. Save the tax dollars for the state. But for a failure to appear warrant? Just how drunk and disorderally was she on the original charge? Bond violation - any addict is going to shake their head and let the lawyer talk. To me, it seems mom is getting a church camp vacation while teenager is in foster care. Trust- I raised a teenager- a break is needed from time to time- but seven months? This case smells like the Easter Dinner deviled eggs after being left out on the counter till Easter Tuesday.

I’m weary of religious based rehabilitation facilities when no outside contact is allowed. Mom’s lawyer can’t even speak directly to mom. A 7 month program for a 2 year old dui seems excessive. The program doesn’t have a licensed substance abuse counselor to complete an assessment nor is assessment required to enter the program? Mom is sitting on screen like a robot, the program is doing all the talking for her.

OMG this is ridiculous. It should be used as a warning against DUI. I'm not excusing her original conviction. However, because an incompetent clerk sent paperwork to the wrong address, even after her trying to stay in touch with the courts who told her Don't worry well contact you. Then she has to go to treatment just to get the results to shower to go away even tho her failure was the court clerks fault That started a goat rodeo with this incompetent department especially turnipseed and his "supervisor" who should get sandwiches for driving while on Zoom. Now the judge is so confused he's insisting on alcohol testing for a 3 yr old conviction, and there was no required testing as a result of that old conviction. This attorney is the only rational person in this hot mess. I love how he's requiring apsych eval. Mother of a nonverbal child, IDK how she is still sane after all this mess. Plus this judge is going to keep screwing around with visitation and required courses, and next thing you know he's going to screw up her requirements to meet the failure to appear items from the criminal court. Overman, after being shook incompetent and missing reports etc , Chinese up about the extraneous testing and recommendations. The court hard agreed with Certain but the judge doesn't seem to keep track of what he previously agreed to.

Wait... they took her special needs kid in January, and no plan to return the child by April!? I would be a mess! Nothing needed is done, and this judge should hand the kid over and done.

I am an Evangelical Christian. I know first hand how exceptional some of the programs are!! With that being said, I am very suspicious of this mom. She has a very arrogant demeanor. I agree that the entire back story for the mom is sketchy. One last comment, if this the Potter's House group from TX, there have been some very serious and perhaps criminal charges involving the top leadership of the Potter's House. 😊
