She never said it in the OP-ED and thats all that matters legally. On the stand she is forced to say who it was about, thats different. She's allowed free speech. Depps lawyer (who he ended up suing btw because he lost the sun trial) wrote malicious lies about heard and that is defamation, not free speech. She was writing about her own experience whereas depps lawyer was writing unprovoked defamatory statement about her with malice.

As a survivor of DV, this case was so incredibly triggering. I was an emotional mess in court when I had to face my ex-husband as I was terrified of him. I know ppl react differently but my god, AH behaves exactly like the narcissistic abuser my ex was... it's scary at just how similar their behaviours are...nothing is their fault, everyone is lying, they had to play the victim to people they knew but unfortunate to them, their stories never matched up and their lies finally exposed. It angers me terribly when ppl make false claims, false allegations, as this then makes it so much harder for real victims, real survivors to be heard fairly as it takes so much courage to speak out again your abuser, risking the revictimisation a survivor faces in court.

But it's hard to decipher malice in the specific news article that Depp is suing Heard for. Defamation has to be a specific claim, not just a general "she doesn't like me". Specific details that can be completely refuted, with little doubt. It might be true that Heard has displayed malice as the divorce proceedings wore on, but I don't think can infer that specifically from the article. And, to be fair, it's pretty "craftily" written. Doesn't specifically name Depp and also doesn't go into deep details that could be easily refuted as false. Depp should just walk away and keep his dignity. I don't think he needs to win or lose this case to keep his loyal fans, especially now. It was a show trial and Depp has had a very good showing (and Heard has not).

Victims are put in this witch trial and humiliating position. It is so hard to watch someone you like watching in movies-- can be capable for this atrocious acts... but we are easily swayed and bias---Johnny Depp is not the character he plays in the movies.. he is deeply troubled man. As an Englishman, I am often shocked by elements of the US judicial system and how it is applied (I recognize the wide cultural variance across the big country that is the US) especially the way the media and public opinion seem to influence the outcomes, even though they are specifically supposed not to. But I do see the value of televised (truly public) trials. I have been impressed by much of this trial, especially the clarity which the judge has given to proceedings. Juries can be contrary, but whatever the outcome, the trial itself has proved enlightening and I have respect for the process.

I hope the jury make the right decision and really look long and hard at all the evidence presented. I hope there is justice to support men's rights, men can be the victims of intimate partner violence and it is very sad a man has to fight so hard to find justice, and ultimately some peace within as a result. I know men who have been victims of intimate partner violence at the hands of very manipulative and callous women - it is incredibly sad society is slow in recognising this does happen. I really admire Camille Vasquez and the team - very powerful and very on point, I truly hope the jury are detailed in their deliberations.

She and her friends used JD for his money then made all the accusations up. She and her witnesses lied in court and it was proven. We expect that the truth will come out and that he will get out of this toxic affair What is complicated for Johnny Depp in this case is that he must prove that there was malicious intent on the part of A. Heard to do an article in the Washington Post as representative of battered women to harm Johnny Depp. so, he can lose this case if the defamation in the intention to harm exists or not, even if it is recognized that there is some evidence of violence of AH ... And if he loses, the risk is that the public will infer that he was violent with her, while this is not the subject treated in the trial. In fact, J. Depp who wanted to appease the divorce proceedings, never used her facts of violence,; she had started the procedure while he was on tour, she obtained an order with photos so that he could not approach her; all this did not prevent her from contacting him again... she showed up with a slight bruise that she did not have 6 days before, and J. Depp was not there; and Many things, facts, devious, wicked, but ... he could say in front of everyone what was his life during those dark years, that's what he wanted too to restore his situation. Expect better 🙏
