I made that comment because you (and other narrow-minded individuals) seem to be missing the big picture. This was not a beauty contest case, it was about the burglary of a home, which does not require a person to be Miss Congeniality or Miss America.

This was really a sad sad case. The judge handled this so well and the plaintiff also was remarkable composed through the whole thing. I would have liked for the judge to have suspended the hearing and mandated the Father bring his son back to court .... this is exactly where parents/ authority figures go wrong - when we do not allow our youth to deal with the consequences of their actions, they become the adults we should not have to deal with ... that letter is the tell-tale sign of what could possibly be on the horizon - the victim actually had more care and concern for this young boys' future by not wanting to press charges and trying to be a decent neighbor .....

Every deadbeat father (and mother) that has a crook for a son (or daughter) should watch this video and take this video to heart. Stop making your children out to be angels when they are not. I wasn't an angel myself back in the day. Granted, I wasn't a gangbanger, either. But parents MUST hold their children accountable when they do something wrong and applaud them when they do something right. Otherwise, the children will end up either in prison or 6 feet under. That mother was an angel for keeping his son out of the system. WAKE UP, PARENTS!!! AND DO YOUR JOBS!!!!

Honestly.. this woman is so unbelievably kind hearted. The fact is that these boys broke into her home & she was still suffering from so much anxiety & yet chose to allow them to remain within the community instead of trying to have them locked up, which would have allowed her to feel safe in her own home is SO selfless & kind. I hope those boys used the chance she gave them to better themselves.

See I think she handled it correctly. Especially since the boy is still a child. Sometimes you can't call the police, because police now a days will do anything to lock a young black man up. And I know that he did commit a crime but that goes to the lack of tough love and leadership he may not be getting at home. So I admire her for taking matters into her own hands and confronting the boys on their wrong doing. Hopefully that was his last time and he learned from his mistakes.

Can you believe the father giving attitude when she chose not go to the police which was a really nice thing to do under the circumstances. I’ve been burgled and it’s a horrible feeling to know someone has been in your home and going through your stuff.

I don't know if I would be that willing to not press charges. I mean, I get it. Being Black in this country is already hard and having a record makes it harder. But the thought of someone coming into my home and robbing me from the things I worked hard to buy, doesn't sit well with me. I'll be the first to admit, this woman is more of a Queen than I am. Blessings to her and her family.

When his son gets caught one of these times someone is gonna press charges and Daddy won’t be there to get you out of trouble. If you don’t discipline your kids the real world will. He wanted to protect his child so he didn’t bring the child. That kid will be in lockup one day.
