In my county, it's open range. You hit a horse, you will not only pay the vet bill, but also pay for the cost of the horse and any other costs. Same for any other farm/range animal. It doesn't matter if your animal destroys the fence or not. It's open range, which means you don't have to fence in your farm animals, they can roam and range freely. We have some areas that are like that, and you have to drive slowly cuz bulls just don't always want to move.
