I always say I have better kids than I have ever deserved, and my youngest (23) went to school and was friends with kids that were addicts and acting out having sex, getting pregnant… and my daughter was the parent of the group, taking care of them, making sure they were eating and hydrated… the only thing she has ever used is the occasional weed, which is legal where we are. I was suddenly paralyzed when she was 18, and this kid has jumped in to be everything from my nurse to my hairdresser 😂 and I make sure the last thing I say to her every night before she closes my door is "thank you, boo" Like I said… better kids than I’ve ever deserved.

So yes, I believe she cares. I also believe that she is so tired of seeing our young people come before her court because of some of the things that they have done and can't change it. It can't be undone because somewhere in their life someone did not really, really get it into their mindset that your actions have consequences and you need to be mindful of what you do or how you react when someone has done something to you because we get one time to f****** and that might be our only time and after that it's too late to change it😢

Her mom played a role into her daughter being way she is - always rescuing and placating. You don't just launch out and punch you mom, take her keys - take her car , then upon return, bust out window unless there is a history of mom going easy on her, giving in and no boundaries. Then mom puts up a boundary - BOOM - get's punched in face, etc. Now with a grandson, grandma is going to be even more compliant with daughter so she doesn't punish her by withholding contact with grandson.

@hiyellagal What makes you think this 21 year older was coddled by her mother. We don't have the background, don't know how many times she has hit her momma. Who wants to call the cops on your own child? Grown kids make their own choices. Doesn't matter how well you raise them.
@_beautifullyflawed1446 ай бұрын
With all do respect mom, give her some tough love, and a lesson in accountability. YOU need to be the one to start her wake-up call. Coming to court crying and defending her after she stole your car, busted your window and FOUGHT you, is only opening the door for her to do it all over again. What you have to realize as a mother, is that the people in the streets, don't and won't ever feel what you feel for your daughter,. And if she tries that mess with the wrong person, you'll be back in court crying, while giving a victim impact statement. Tough love ma'am, tough love.

I've worked in this field and you honestly never know who is gonna finally hear you and have it click. Give people a chance to prove you wrong. 90% of the time, they won't and you'll see you were right. But every once in awhile someone you thought was a lost cause gets it and turns it around. And those 10% stick with you way more than the 90% who never get it.

Why are you just blaming the mother. Where the hell is the Dad? Where is the hell is society? Did you ever hear it takes a village to raise a child. The fact that 80% of black babies are born out of wedlock tell me that the black community has a huge Dad problem. Meanwhile sometime kids turn out bad especially with single working mothers. A single mother working cannot watch the kids 24 hours a day and kids get a lot of outside very negative influnace parents cannot control. Even the best parent can have kids who are irresponsible, get into drugs and big trouble. I certainly do not blame my Mother for my mistake as a adult so why would you blame the mother for her daughter? The mother was concern about the no contact part of the plea because she wanted to see her grandchild. And you are blaming her for that? But I also think the other problem I find in so many of these hearings, is that the defendants are at a huge disadvantage in these zoom hearing. One problem is it does not feel like you are in a hearing. There are usually things happening around you that can be distracting because you are in your home and not a courtroom. Also because the judge want to see a upclose of you face they can take every expession on your face as being a snarky comment when in a courtroom you would be far enough away the judge would not be so overly judging every facial expression and taking it personally. In a courtroom you can write something on paper or wisper to your lawyer if you have a qustion and they can sort of guide you when it is OK to speak ect. I also wonder how many are being advised by there lawyer about courtroom etiquette how to behave in dress and they should see a zoom meeting just as if they were in the courtroom itself and treat it as such. When I went in a for SS disability hearing my lawyer spent a 30 min meeting with me telling me what to wear, he went over my answer over the question most likely to be asked and how to even how to respond if the judge makes a joke. Smile but do not laugh to much because your are in pain. Then I have seen some judge throw a fit getting really mad when there are connection problems or the defendant has a problem with unmuting the phone or something. None of those thing help the defentant. Maybe more convient for the lawyer and everybody else but if you're in court it's best to actually be in court instead of doing this crap and hoping you have no problem with your phone and then get a bench warrent.
@JAM66110 ай бұрын
@Wheeler63Chances there is no active Dad since 80% of black babies in this country are born out of wedlock. You can raise the best kids and then they get in the wrong crowd in school and find the wrong site on the internet and even the best kids can go down. If anything this mother seem fairly responisble because she showed up. She was the victim and she could have dropped the charges or not show up and the state would have to drop it also. She could have said no contact and screw the grandchild. You must think we live in the 1950's today.
