To an extent. He actually told the judge that the plaintiff should have purchased the transmission piece himself and brought it over. I disagree; since the defendant was the one who made the mistake, he should have been the one to fix the problem. It's not a customer's responsibility to purchase an item for their car on their own accord if they are seeing a mechanic, unless they're fully knowledgeable about cars and mechanics.

@@Wayniesgirl that’s excessively critical. Lots of people lie under oath for different reasons and if we don’t have all the facts, we have no moral authority to judge. The reason parties are sworn is so that there’s legal liability for misinformation, whether intentional or not. Litigants that purposefully lie and hold on to their self righteous narratives tend to stick to those narratives because they’re self serving - he straight out admitted wrongdoing. Best thing to do once damage is done is to own up to things and move on with dignity.
@Wayniesgirl
@Wayniesgirl Жыл бұрын
@Santi Decunto Excessively critical? That is hilarious. And the "making up your own version" of what it means to be under oath. Just NO. Here is a Google-able basic explanation of what "being under oath" means: Being under oath is a promise to tell the entire truth no matter what during a legal process. The most common oath used in the majority of proceedings includes an affirmation to “tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth”. The most meaningful part of being under oath is that you are held legally responsible for any information you provide under the deposition. Any details that are given falsely can have significant legal consequences for you. So, at no time does it allow for LIES. In fact, lying under oath is a crime. Look it up. And these are YOUR own words: "Litigants that purposely lie and hold on to their self-righteous narratives because they're self-serving - he straight out admitted wrongdoing." What a load of rubbish. He PURPOSELY LIED about the $400 he received. The only thing he remotely " owned up to" was that he shouldn't have misquoted the price or asked the guy to get his own case. His half-hearted "I may have been a little to blame," was acknowledging thw OBVIOUS, that he messed up by getting a transmission that didn't fit the existing case or pricing it correctly the first time. ( that's on him as a business owner ) But it has nothing to do with his 2 flat-out LIES. He didn't pay out a penny. Dignity? Apologize for lying about the $400

As somone who does their own mechanical work on my own vehicles, because I don't trust any shops in my area, all you guys need to know is your VIN off of the registration on your title or windshield and you can enter that number in the company who makes the cars website and you can get the build sheet data for free and know EXACTLY what all your parts are and the numbers corresponding to those specific parts. The major dealership I bought my wrangler lj from tried telling me to add ATF (automatic transmission fluid) to my 6 speed manual transmission... which would have destroyed it 100%..... car dealerships and mechanics DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTRESTS IN MIND. They want your money. Get your Vin and look it up yourself.

This whole case is confusing, even the defendant face looks confused about him hearing he was locked up. If the defendant told the Fiancé that the transfer case was going to be another $500 and he dint want to pay for it since he already gave him $400 he should have just gave them back the car the new transmission and let them worry about the transfer case. So this looks like someone wants a job done by someone who did not have their own capital to buy parts. But in the end he said he told the Fiancé he could buy the case himself and bring it to him. If the Defendant had more time to put the events in order and stated, he received $400 to do the job but it required another part that was $500 and he gave them an option to purchase the part themself and they didnt do it in a reasonable amount of time then he could have a good defense even charge for storage fees of their vehicle.

why would you leave your car in a shop for months and expect good things to happen. Should have retrieved car immediately and demanded a refund for the transfer case!

@@notsure9079 question… won’t the defendant have to pay the show back?
@namnack
@namnack Жыл бұрын
@@alexisgaines9675 Nope. The show pays the judgements full stop, up to a maximum of $5000 per case. That's why these buffoons come on the show and look like complete idiots on national TV :)

@Alexis Gaines No, the producers maintain a $5,000 fund for each case. The losing side doesn't need to reimburse the show.

first of all, I'd NEVER take my car to a mechanic that worked out of their own house unless I was friends with them or knew them personally.

This is old lol... But why are there comments talking about at least he admitted fault??? He admitted fault in the HALLWAY....AFTER the case was over...Please 🙄Some people are delusional to think that he was being sincere and deserves credit for admitting guilt after the fact 🙄.
