Anyone caught voting illegally or trying to vote illegally will be arrested, and their vote not counted. They literally verify all this stuff when registering and also when they receive the ballot. The issue here is that 1600 people were removed from voting, but none of which could be proven as "non-citizens". All of the people they looked at were citizens, and it is illegal to remove legally registered people like this so close to the election! It’s both laughable and terrifying. You have the same right to vote that I do, but obviously not the “capacity” to do so. These people are almost certainly legal voters. Just because they filled out a drivers license application years ago before they were citizens does that mean they have not recently become citizens. 1 million people a year become citizens through immigration alone. And even if they weren’t eligible to vote, you don’t get to remove them right before the election. This governor could’ve done this anytime in the past, but he choose to wait to the last minute. That’s because he wants to throw red meat to his base and make them angry and charged up. If you just make sure poll workers look at a photograph of the voter nobody is gonna be voting that shouldn’t. Registration rolls shouldn’t even matter. In Michigan your registered to vote when you get a photo ID from the state, If you just look at those photos which are updated every 5 years and the signature, there’s no way to mistake voting.

The main thing is they have to prove their identity first before they can get one they can't just walk in and say who they are. No where is it proven or indicated that someone non citizen actually voted.
