The irony is that it is in the hands of the Judges.

The fight cards this year have been mostly garbage. I feel like if they did take a big financial hit it could make them have to put on better cards and cut some of the bloat.

Acting like the ufc can’t afford to go to arena and stadiums if they have to fork out this settlement is beyond ludicrous. If the ufc isn’t so greedy they can easily not put on shows at the apex. The gate alone pays for all the fees associated with renting a location. The whole issue from the start is that the ufc is too greedy to pay these athletes what they are worth and you’re over here glazing them up like oh Dana whites only a billionaire or high hundred millionaire and he can’t afford to put on good shows.

They pay more than any other combat sport including boxing and it isn't even close and they pay way more than any other sport history has in their first 30 years of creation. I'm all for fighters making more money but I'm for them making more money with the above facts in mind.

@@TrackinDaMeta they absolutely do not pay more than boxing. They also pay a smaller percent if they’re revenue to the athletes than other sports. The ufc can afford to build the apex center and ufc gyms all over the country because they’re incredibly profitable. They can clearly afford to pay the fighters ,who make all the money and are literally the product they are selling.

@grimster41 I understand where you're coming from, but I think there's more to consider. Let's break it down: Comparing Fighter Pay: In the last Golden Boy show, if you add up the total money paid to every fighter on the undercard and compare it to what Volkanovski earned just for wearing his Nike shorts, you'll see he made more than the entire undercard combined. That's a direct comparison, and I didn't even look at his fighter pay or the pay for other fighters on the card. The UFC outperforms an equivalent boxing show running at the same time. Top 1% Earnings: The top 1% of boxers may make more than the top 1% of MMA fighters, but everyone below that in boxing makes little to nothing. MMA, specifically the UFC, provides better pay across the board compared to the boxing undercard fighters. Age and Evolution of the Sport: Comparing a sport invented 31 years ago (MMA) that has gone through three owners to one invented 157 years ago (boxing) with numerous promotions and owners isn't fair. Basketball is often used as a comparison for UFC pay percentages. In 1950, 60 years after basketball was invented, the best player, George Mikan, made $20k a year, comparable to a great doctor's salary at the time. The UFC has been around for half that time, and their best fighters make significantly more than the average doctor. Infrastructure and Establishment: Expecting a new sport to pay its athletes the same as well-established sports with global infrastructure is unrealistic. The UFC has grown substantially in a short time, and their fighter pay reflects that growth. In conclusion, it's not accurate to compare the top 1% of boxers to all UFC fighters without considering the relative youth of MMA and its rapid development. The discourse on fighter pay often lacks a comprehensive understanding of these factors.

@@TrackinDaMeta exaggerating that I’m only comparing the ufc to the top 1% of boxers is the problem. We’re talking about the top 20% at the most extreme possible. Also acting like the ufc has 100 years to pay their fighters a decent wage is laughable. The ufc makes 12 billion a year. The entire nba all 30 teams did 74 billion in 2022. If you don’t see how you’re points are irrelevant or simply twisting a narrative to fit your cause then I’m not wasting my time arguing with you. The simple facts are the ufc boasts huge profits every year and can afford to compensate athletes better and you people licking uncle Dana’s boots should just disappear and let people advocate for people to make better money. I don’t know what makes you so passionate about billionaire becoming richer but it is thoroughly disgraceful behavior. Notice I didn’t have to copy and paste my response.
