Ummm he lying. I’m 90% disability rated by the VA and I have a full time job. That’s a choice I make: to be employed and be a productive member of society. I hope to never be 100% disabled or take away from those veterans that are truly 100% disabled and CANNOT work. This guy…. Smh. He’s able to walk, talk and cause trouble he’s able to work

My son had a traumatic brain injury from suicide bombing in Iraq and he still works. He has to carry a notebook with memory aids to remember things, but he holds a job!!

Absolutely. We need more Democratic Judges on the hyper-partisan MAGA Supreme Court. Judge Stevens (also from Texas) is another Democratic Judge that would be a good addition. Hopefully Biden enlarges the court next term, before they take away more rights of fellow Americans.

I love her, she is a Democrat and I’m always surprised how universal the love is for her in the comments considering how hateful politics has become the last decade. She definitely is not light on crime yet holds quite a lot of compassion. I’m not sure her bonafides when it comes to constitutional law but she definitely has a distinguished career in front of her!

So many of these defendants look so lost. You have to wonder how and why they grew up that way. Don't hate on me. I'm not saying they shouldn't pay the price for their actions. One of the reasons I like this judge so much is she is compassionate and understanding, but holds people to standards they maybe don't hold themselves to.

I am 60 and I have never been arrested, I limit who I hang with, I OBEY LAWS, AND I READ, I see these videos and seeing these videos of Judge Boyd (she makes things VERY CLEAR) what you do on probation, OR SERVE YOUR SENTENCE end of story. I’m not perfect but I chose not to be in the system . There is resources out there to use before you get arrested and into a system. Choose a better life

My Dad received benefits from the Korean war. He was told not to work because of the seriousness of his injury. He went to college and worked until he was 70 years old. He worked full-time and was even the Superintendent of two County Departments. I don't understand why it is so different now.

My Grandfathers were both injured... WWII and Korean War. Both had VA benefits and retired from factory jobs. My brother is medically retired from the Marines and was deployed 2x to the Middle East in his teens. He was a heavy machinist and then got a BS in the medical field doing some crazy specific radiology/imaging I can't understand. Has worked since he retired. I don't understand not working. I'm not military but 50% disabled and have had to fight to keep working. 🤷🏻♀️ I believe it probably has to do with what side of the justice system he's found himself on.

Does he want food stamps, welfare, etc. My husband was on disability from marines and my father from Navy in WW2, both worked and if he doesn't have a 100 % disability he doesn't loose it

Judge Boyd always sees through lies, falsification, and denials. She also knows when people are trying, being truthful, and making positive changes in their lives. I believe she is very just and fair. Skmetimes, I believe the defendant, but then it never fails they weren't being truthful. Judge Boyd is one of my favorite Judges and discerns the truth.

i'll never be able to comprehend the way that single mothers so proudly announce their child neglect to the world and wear their dysfunction like a badge of honor. children from single mother homes are nine times more likely to end up in prison and are 4 to 6 times more likely to experience adult homelessness, mental illness, addiction issues and poverty. add to these terrible outcomes the numbers of obese women and the decades-long studied significantly increased mental health issues in their children. of course, there are exceptions, but exceptions do not change the rule. this is nothing to be proud of. we can see the outcomes of normalized single motherhood in all aspects of society today, as all of these outcomes also become more and more normalized. mass single motherhood is a bottomless pit of dysfunction and despair for all of society. generation alpha is doomed.

Our son is in the Air Force, so don't take my comments the wrong way. But if you can walk into the courtroom you can work doing something. The VA will not pay you to sit at home and do nothing productive. SS Disability will not pay you unless you have a disability that won't allow you to work.

That's not completely true. A lot of vets with hearing damage or tinnitus can work but still receive something. I know that from working with those vets for a job.
