A defense attorney is there to guide the defendant to the process, because the process is sophisticated and complex and adversary so it is way to easy to convict somebody innocent without an attorney. The defense attorney is needed to sentence somebody, else one could say he was innocent but just wasn't able to defend oneself properly. Because of that a defense attorney who does his job badly is a terrible thing, becaude you leave room for speculation. Therefore one could say a defense attorney helps to get you convicted, by robbs you of any excuses because he tries to come up with all excuses.

Defence lawyers don’t always believe their client is innocent. Nor do they usually want to see their client get an acquittal. Their job is really to make sure the state dots their I’s and crosses their T’s to make certain that the defendant truly deserves to go to jail. He's a horrible man, and yall getting mad over the fact the judge had something to say to him about it. I don't blame her tbh... When more than 200 women were sexually abused and taken advantage of then I would've said something too if I were her. @@eyeflaps Yep because she is happy. It was probably also her way of low key letting the families of the victims know that she actually did not support or even like her defendant. I would do that if I was in her shoes. I would low key find a way to ensure the victims and their families that I actually was secretly on their side and absolutely hated whoever I was defending.
