When do people write & these complaints?? Because as soon as they get into the courtroom they get amnesia 💀
@jonulmer6 ай бұрын
TLDR: Plantiff and Defendant write out their statements a month or so before taping and then sign them the day of taping. I think after the show determines there is enough of a story/case, they get both sides to agree to go into arbitration with Judge Judy. Going into arbitration you submit (file) a signed sworn statement of the facts. I think for the show they do it a few months before taping. Then just before taping they have them reread their previous statements and sign that they are true. So when Judge Judy yells at them about, "you just signed a sworn statement that it was WEDNESDAY not FRIDAY!!!", I think it's for that. For instance, in the statement from months ago the person may have written, "Friday" about the incident. But then they recall the correct day was Wednesday, not Friday. The real process is to submit amendments to your statement if information has changed or needs to be corrected. So I think Judge Judy does it for effect really, and it's exciting to 'catch someone in a lie'.

@@jonulmerthey have the opportunity to make changes to their statement prior to signing it the day of taping. So its for more than just effect. It is catching someone in a lie.
