@shendisackett
@shendisackett Жыл бұрын
There's that and I don't know how the US system works but in the UK it usually takes a little while for benefits/welfare to come through, it can be anywhere up to a month whilst they do checks. According to the plaintiff she had that in April as well. So was the defendant a stop gap financially whilst she waited for her welfare?
@carlyjmc

@@shendisackett sounds like it... Although benefits in the UK take minimum of 6weeks and usually around 13 weeks is the norm. If the plaintiff had started off saying that her husband left (bad choice to freely admit she removed him) and that she began looking for a roommate....when defendant offered to move in and help with bills. She actually might have had a chance here. Because that changes the situation from - my girlfriend moved in and I charged her rent, to.... I needed a roommate to help with bills and my girlfriend offered to be that person. The second is a lot more logical, and sets the stage for a case on why the defendant owes her money. But of course that's probably not the truth which is why the plaintiff didn't use that angle.

@shendisackett
@shendisackett Жыл бұрын
Her story didn't line up to me that she had welfare awarded the same time the relationship ended! In the UK if you apply for benefits there is a little bit of a wait whilst forms are filled and checks are done. So I can't help but feel she had the defendant there until the welfare kicked in. Then there's the abuse of the restraining order system, one to get the ex-husband out to and then to get the defendant out. The plaintiff has a pretty cold heart especially as the defendant was caring for her at one point.
