My mother was crack addicted my whole life... I remember I used to sit and wait and she never came... I was scarred for a long time until I realized it had nothing to do with me... I've been able to helped her off and on...I made a promise that once she got on her feet I'd bless her... When i turned 25 she got herself together ... She got a place of her own and I furnished it and got her a car in my name.... I must say she wasn't a mom because of addiction but praise God my children have her and she's a amazing grandma and for that I'm healed and no longer affected by childhood trauma ‼️

I grew up in the inner city when crack first hit the scene. (Late 70's). We lived in the projects. I can remember seeing my friends and parents friends,go from looking healthy to looking like walking Zombies. I must have been about 13. It was scary seeing this happen before my eyes. Very scary. In school they offered classes on drugs. (Cocaine/crack) My parents had to sign. I remember hearing the teacher say "THE VERY FIRST TIME YOU USE CRACK,YOUR BRAIN INSTANTLY WOULD BECOME ADDICTED". That was scary also to me. Between those classes and my father being militant with us,I was too afraid to do anything. I was afraid of my dad. He was extremely strict. May have saved us from a world of misery. I wish this man healing and true peace. Freedom from addiction.
