The alcohol wouldn't be cooked off. Most of it will be gone, but not entirely: "According to a 1992 US study, food has to be cooked for around three hours for most alcohol to be cooked out. But the rate of ethanol evaporation is also dependent on heat and your cooking method. Food simmered in alcohol for 15 minutes only lost 60 per cent of the alcohol content."

The quiet knowledge that the water bottle flip didn't land and the way Erika cut her eyes at Josh after is hilarious 😂🤣🤣🤣

As someone who is autistic, the way they describe Mandy is the way a lot of people who have bullied me would describe me. So its hard to feel empathetic for OP.

It is weird to be unable to just have a meal at an event that was provided for you. Making this big show of going to get "better" food is rude. Sidenote: my cousin for her second wedding invited me to her wedding (she is 15 years older than I am) and the dance after, but told me once I arrived to the wedding that supper was not included and I would have to go find somewhere to eat. A meal was provided for my mom so I had to go eat either alone or arrange with other people during the wedding to figure out where we were going to eat. My other cousin around my age was also not invited to the meal and also didn't know this before she arrived. She was way angrier than I was, but we agreed to go look for somewhere else to eat. After driving around the town my cousin lived looking for a place, this is a town we were both unfamiliar with, we eventually found a place that was open and wasn't fastfood. It took us over an hour to find a place because everywhere we tried was closed. Apparently this town has a lot of places for lunch, but not many places for dinner. We had an ok meal together but the frustration of finding a place to eat and insult of being refused supper soured the mood. My cousin took her gift to my other cousin back. They hadn't given it yet when they found out, it was in the car, and they just never gave it. I just gave a card with some money and didn't take it back. Rise above, bigger person, yada yada. It was hurtful and deceptive the way this wedding was handled.

When I was visiting an olive garden in Italy I let the intrusive question in my mind win. “What determines an olive oils virginity?” I had to explain I meant that what does it mean when bottles are labeled extra virgin. Tbh I honest I don’t remember her answer exactly but I remember it being feeling unsatisfactory but I didn’t want to bother the tour group I was with more virginity based olive questions. Was my original question weird or at least to ask in a group setting because my family seems to think it was?

how tf was it weird..? to me it feels like a softball question for a tour guide and it’s unfortunate she didn’t answer it satisfactorily

Dude, that’s not weird at all! Also, extra virgin olive oil is what’s extracted from the first press of the olives.

That wedding story OP sounds like a jerk tbh. This is a close friend who's significant other has been ostracized for 2 years... like she specifically says they don't invite her to any girls nights because it's awkward. I think that realistically if Mandy is constantly seeing that she's left out, and realistically complains or cries to her SO and he invites these people that are hurting her anyway he's the worst kind of asshole. He's actively told OP that he thinks she's being a jerk but that hasn't altered her behavior so why should he invite her along? At a certain point it moves from you just not realizing you're upsetting them to being malicious. How can you basically treat someone with complete indifference to the point you're clearly hurting them then be shocked you don't get invited to their wedding?

I feel for Mandy. When my hubby and I first got married my husband tried to get me to hang out with his friends wives/girlfriends/ fiances since I had no real "girlfriends" at the time and after a few times "hanging out" I told him I wasn't going to anymore because I felt so uncomfortable with the girls cause I had NOTHING in common with them. I felt more safe and welcomed with the guys instead since I shared the same interests & hobbies as them. The women were NEVER mean to me but I just never had a connection with them. It didn't help that half the time girls night out we're MLM pitch meetings too
