Plastic flowers can be sustainable. They can last for years, plus they DON'T need constant upkeep. Annuals need yearly replacement. All living plants need fertilizers. Some plants need supports and protective cages. Sheers and other gardening tools need sharpening. The use of water, pots, purchased soils, many trips to the gardening center, etc.

I love that you noticed Woodpecker joinery greenhouses from Staffordshire I live a mile away from where the bespoke greenhouses are made, I am very proud to say my son used to work for them and he has fitted greenhouses on the King's estate for him.

Hi Josie - congratulations on your opportunity to be a judge at the Chelse Flower show. Although very different yet, it reminds me of the Rose Parade or Tournament of the Roses which takes place every New Year's Day in Pasadena, California which it has been a must for me as long as I can remember enjoying the creativity of each flower-covered float. They also have march bands (but I am not a fan of them at all, and sorry if offend anyone from the U.S. but I just don't care for the march bands at all). It is just amazing what they can do with flower petals, seeds from flowers, vegetables you name it. Anyway, once again, congratulations for this experience.

THE David Austin, the original horticulturalist, passed away in 2018 at age 92. This is his son, David Austin Jr., who was very instrumental in created it as a worldwide business.
