I love love love you guys so much! And you have helped me so much. I’ve actually been following Dana since her blog was a baby❤ I have just one request for you all. I am the curator at a local history museum and we never have enough ephemera from our local families…So often because organizers tell them to toss their old family papers and photos😭 May I make one request: have your clients call their local history society and donate these precious pieces of history to them. When people come in to our museum to learn more about their ancestors, they say “If I had only known about this museum I would have donated my huge box of memorabilia to you instead of throwing it away. We thought no one wanted it.” Well, there is always someone who wants it. Dont forget, distant cousins share ancestors with you. And none of it has to be organized! AND some museums offer to digitize your ephemera for FREE!! Thanks for hearing my plea😊❤️

I actually use all 3 of these styles of cleaning and decluttering. What I have learned about myself is that my mental health is directly related to what's around me. I have to bring the chaos back into order! I think the most important thing I have learned is that the perfect system that brought me so much peace and joy will very likely need an update as my family's needs change. It doesn't mean that I got it wrong! It means I recognize that space can be better utilized with a new and fresh perspective as the needs change. It's exhilarating ❤!

You 3 don’t even know me, but you are MY BEST FRIENDS!! I laugh with you, hang on to every word you say and I watch every single one of your episodes!!! I would love to meet you one day! I am struggling to keep my space clutter free!! And one thing I haven’t ever heard being addressed by any of you is “ Moving into someone else’s home. More specifically, my son got divorced a few years ago after they had just bought a big 4 bedroom home with a finished basement apartment as well. When Covid hit and I lost my job my son invited me to live in his home, he had moved into the finished basement area as he works from home down there too. I moved in, for what should have been temporary, but trying to find an affordable place on my own has become next to impossible! I’m so extremely grateful and want to respect his home the way he has it set up of course! The kitchen is fully stocked, as is the rest of the house, ie linen closets, the 4 bedrooms etc etc. so I basically packed up all my stuff from the townhouse I was in and moved it all into storage as it was if I was moving into an Air BnB! I didn’t need to bring anything but my clothes! I just realized this is definitely too long and so I’ll send in an email with the rest of the story! My challenge is bringing in some of my stuff is making everything look cluttered, but can’t get rid of his stuff, and I’ll need my stuff when I get my own place again. Sorry for the extremely long “comment” ! I’ve been dying to ask it but haven’t figured out how to get my questions or emails in to be addressed on a live program How does everyone know ? If anyone can please tell me how I get to send in my question (I have to shorten it of course), but I’d be so grateful!!
@lisab95412 ай бұрын
Such a good question. My friend and I have discussed moving in together for years as we are neither of us in the best health or getting younger, lol. I don't want to give up anything but I think both of us need to if this is to become a reality. How do we approach emptying 2 houses to become 1?
@jennalacaria3924Ай бұрын
Ask yourself the question, is it costing me more to store it than it would to replace it and if I didn't have it would I buy it again? It is so easy to obtain things cheaply these days (2nd hand) that it's usually not worth hanging onto things you're not using right now. Only keep something if it will be very difficult to replace and you for sure use it.

How to declutter fast! The only decluttering rule I live by-the only one that works for me anyway-is to instantly put all of your items into a 'get-rid' pile, such as your clothes, jewelry, home accessories, et cetra, with an adamant mindset that you are about to rid of them all, only, you retrieve the items from the pile that you absolutely need or truly want to keep. This technique has helped me to sell or donate my things in great abundance than if I just spooled through my wardrobe and picked out only a couple of items. Another way to rid of your possessions is to look at an item and ask yourself, "If this were displayed in a store today, would I purchase it?" If the answer is no, get rid of it. I hope this helps! God bless you!

I'm still mind blown after being done with the dishes and it took a really short time because for so long my dishes were weeks old, crusty and moldy and it would take forever. It's been like two years since I do my dishes more regularly (mostly regularly, nobody's perfect) and I legitimately think almost every time wow that was fast, dishes aren't actually as big of a deal as I always seem to think (and it's actually important to tell yourself that, it helps motivate you for the next time you feel like putting them off)

Baby spoons! Funny story: my kids are no longer babies, and I pulled out all the baby spoons years ago to give away, and then I brought 2 back. They are the silicone spoons, and they are the PERFECT tool to scrape sauces out of small jars at the end. I use those two things so much! 😆 I enjoyed watching the video with the three of you!

Nice that you can actually use them for it! I have a 1 year old, and he always refused to use baby spoons, so the beginning I gave him nice wooden teaspoons, and now he wants to eat with “normal” spoons like we do 🥲 and the few baby spoons we had I’ve already gotten rid of.

We use baby spoons to scrape out the pet food cans into the dish. The cans cut chins otherwise, they'd just eat out of the cans and save the dish(es).

Oh my goodness! 😂 You gals definitely all love each other. Your methods all click very well together from somebody like me who has been watching you all separately for years. It makes total sense to me that you all are in a course together you have very similar styles in the way that it is simple like all of you guys take a very simple approach to how to declutter or organize or simplify your homes it all ties in very well the way you all explain things has been phenomenal and all of your approaches are super helpful for me who is always trying to figure out how to work with my own brain. I feel like I've been watching most of your channels when they were newer to like I was watching cast when she was malitose. Dana when she was Nona. I found Dawn when she was doing her toy declutters I think but she had already done like the laundry in the kitchen at that point or maybe I found her when she was doing the kitchen but it was like the first year I think of her doing KZbin. For me it's really helpful to see different styles. And also how different systems work. I found that I need to flip around my approaches. Or hear the reminders from you all.... We all have way too much stuff. And our families and us are mroe important then any stuff and deserve space to live and breath and function. Thanks for all you ladies do in the world. I need all of these ladies as all are relatable! I have taken something from each one of them that has helped ... Cas with staying off of fantasy lane and just getting rid of it, Dana's no mess declutter, and Dawn's minimalistic approach. (You notice they're in alphabetical order so no one is best for me). I also include a question of my own ... "Will I miss this?" I use different approaches to different places. Yesterday my neighbor mentioned how much she loves a couple of antique things she took out of my donate box. I remember them, have never thought about them since, and I certainly do not miss them! Can't wait to join you Saturday, when I'll be in my garage.
