I agree with every assessment you made, and I particularly like how you broke down the slider attempt at Charlotte. Those can be difficult to evaluate, but I like the half car length or more system you used. That seems fair. Also, I made a cameo in that last wreck as the very last purple and white car that crawls through. I can confirm that we all collectively cornered Barney after the race and stuffed him in a locker for the non-yellow there, lol.

Idk why Nascar looks so appealing through gaming and KZbin videos yet I can't get myself to watch an actual Nascar race.

The broadcasting has been really bad for a few years, in my opinion. I used to watch as a kid, because my dad would force me too. I was always more of a road-racing guy, until I started to race ovals in iracing on a whim. I really never grasped how strategic it was for the teams, and how difficult the driving was. Like everyone, I assumed it was just turning left. Now I love running short tracks more than anything else on iracing, but I still don't watch any oval racing.

I don't have iRacing currently, but I tried it for 3 months last summer. Even if I don't have it right now, your videos help me have more knowledge when I eventually race again, so thanks!

I'excited about their upcoming Nascar game. Cause Nascar is only reason I think about getting into iRacing too for years now. OG I hope LFM implements an oval series in AC1 schedule
@davanierodriguez11 ай бұрын
@@RonaldRegain I'm also excited about their game. I've been playing NR2003 since January of 2022 and it's the greatest experience I've had with NASCAR, but some things get old and sometimes the game gets frustrating, and I understand it's a game from 2003. That's why I hope iRacing goes all out with this game and makes it the best experience since NR2003.

With slide jobs I think awareness can happen with them really early, like when the following car disappears from your mirror. That gives you another 4 or 5 seconds to react than just waiting for the car to appear on your left side in front of you. Watching the behaviour of cars around you for a few laps really helps out too.
@rarewhiteape11 ай бұрын
Case-in-point back in July I raced with Rence The Fence at IRP in the C fixed trucks and we slide-jobbed each other multiple times for a couple of laps. I eventually got him because he hit the wall exiting turn 2. If I was not prepared for it I might’ve been entering his rear end quite firmly on the successful ones and the unsuccessful ones. I know that IRP is an extreme example compared to Charlote, but it comes down to mutual trust and respect for someone to not hit your ass and be able to go side-by-side with each other for more than half a corner.

I think something else that you touched on in the Slide Job clip that I think doesn't get talked about enough is anticipating what's probably going to happen or could happen and either being ready to react or going ahead and positioning yourself to in the best spot IF something ahead of you does go bad. I really believe that one of the biggest issues with SIM racing is that very few folks are looking ahead much further than the end of their hoods and are simply reacting. And, if you are just reacting in Racing. You are gonna end up on the wrong end of things a lot more often than ahead of them.

Imo if you pull a slider in arca, it may not be your fault but you open yourself up to that. Especially with how unstable the cars are when hit in the rear
@DJYeeJay11 ай бұрын
Fair. I like sliders in arca because it’s not always about completing the pass right there it’s about positioning your car on the outside where’s it’s easier to complete the pass the next turn
@julianbyrd423211 ай бұрын
I don't have a problem with slide jobs either. Mainly because I've come to understand that most of the time, that slide job is more or less the result of the car making the slider pushing a little to hard off the exit. Not really intending to pull a slide job, just that's how it ended up. Which gives me an advantage by knowing they are going to be a little slower down the straight because from experience, the slide job rattles them a little bit and they're probably going to off the throttle a little bit. So, all I'll do is drag the brakes a little bit while under throttle, let them complete the slide, and get settled back in. Whether or not I make a move underneath depends on whether I know the guy's habits or how they've been racing me up till that moment. Too often, I've seen guys try move back down the track to block you from making a cross-over. -What I like to do is fake the cross-over to see if they bite on it and try to block. Because if they do, I can quickly take the outside and be better positioned going into the next corner.

I wont take a slider unless I can clear and the other guy has a chance to cross over. I have given away a lot because I just wont take it even though iracing is calling me clear the whole time. Because I assume that I will get run over if I cut it too close, because I 100% run people over if there is not time to cross over. I never lift, because they need to think about what they are doing and not assume people will lift just because.

granted I'm commenting late. could you ease following along by taking a page out of Jimmy Broadbent's book: say/repeat who is who. e.g. "you, in the yellow car, ..". or skip the "you" and "the other car" and only refer to them by their color/number (if visible), including in the guilt verdict. I've been lost a few times what car you were talking about once you switched to "you". Maybe i've missed the context of who is who when it was given, but seeing the length of the explanation per clip, if using "you" to adress the clip sender, squeezing this info a few times will ease following along. clarification: i'm not saying this wasn't done, just that more would have helped me follow along in some clips.

Most of these just look like racing incidents. If you have to look closely at who's at fault, it's a racing incident, or we are taking this game to seriously. Plus I also don't care if people make mistakes trying hard, it's not easy to run laps like a robot
@DJYeeJay11 ай бұрын
If you accept everything as “oh well it happens” and take nothing from it, then those wrecks happen more and more often and that’s not good for anyone
@taylorbertrim762511 ай бұрын
@@DJYeeJay oh if you can tell who's at fault or someone just does something dumb, everyone has a reason to be upset. I mean if we have to all look this close, it probably wasn't malicious and is just a racing incident, which I'm ok with, because people make mistakes. Professional Nascar drivers make mistakes right. If someone gets loose and someone else drives in the back of them who's at fault, the person for getting loose like all race car drivers do, or the person who couldn't let off.... It's a racing incident. Both people ran out of talent in that single corner. Can't expect perfection from people, when other in life do you do that?
@DJYeeJay11 ай бұрын
I feel like you didn’t watch the video at the point. In which examples do I tell people to be perfect? Everything I talked about was about intent, awareness, and learning from the situation and very little about anything you described

@@DJYeeJay bro I enjoyed the video I never said you said people had to be perfect. I think we are misunderstanding each other I was just saying I didn't see anyone at fault like the street stock 100% agreed with you, that looked like a mess, but the Texas and Charlotte ones were just close racing and I just think that's what most the time it is, is just people trying hard but talent running out... Sorry if I came off in the wrong tone.
