I think that CR 603.2 means that when the 10th Doctor does Timey Wimey (Time Travel three times) on a suspended Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, then 3 time counters are removed and the creation of a flying dinosaur token is triggered THREE times but the dinosaurs are created after Timey Wimey has fully resolved, as are cards that are no longer suspended - they don't get cast until after Timey Wimey fully resolves, and that is why i can choose the cast oder irrespective of how many time counters they had - I don't have to cast the card that had 1 time counter before the card that had 3 time counters.

Correct. You don't choose the order until you put them on the stack once the correct thing has finished resolving.

So, if I have a creature with the nazgul battle-mace equipped and I play blasphemous edict, the creatures of the opponent which triggers resolve first don't appear on my battlefield before my sacrifice triggers resolve. The battle-maze triggers wait until all blasphemous edict triggers are resolved.

Hey Dave, thanks for all you do to help spread knowledge about MTG's rules. I ran into a situation the other day with the new card Herald of Eternal dawn - player A controlled the big flyer, a board of five 1/1 cats, and was at negative 7 life, staying alive thanks to its effect. They attack into player B's 5/3 Giant reach creature with everything, as player B is only at 2 life. Player B blocks the Herald, then casts Joust through on the Angel, which results in the Giant and the Herald trading. The game state is then at a point where, after damage is dealt to all creatures and players, both have a negative life total (RIP Joust through only gives 1 life)! I initially assumed this would result in a draw, but testing on arena granted the win to the attacking player A - what's going on here? My understanding is that state based actions (including a creature being dealt lethal damage and changing zones, alongside checking if a players life total is 0 or less) all happen at the same time a player would first get priority; in this case after the damage step. Is there a moment between the Herald going to the graveyard and the game checking to see if a player has lost? Other comments with potential answers welcome as well of course. Keep up the good work!

State based actions are performed simultaneously, then if some happened, they are checked again. During the first round of State based actions, player B dies to having 0 life, player A doesn't die because they have a Platinum Angel, Platinum Angel dies to lethal damage. Because player A is the only player left, they immediately win the game at this point, but if there was another player so that the game didn't end, state based actions would immediately be performed again and see that this time player A doesn't have a Platinum Angel so they lose.

I thought you were going to return the creature (at instant speed) in response to the "return as a non-creature enchantment" (in which case you get a creature and the triggered ability does nothing)

I believe you choose the half of the room which you want to cast before you choose if you want to use any alternative costs, so they should stack just fine with whichever half you want to cast. 709.3: A player chooses which half of a split card they are casting before putting it onto the stack.

@judging Triggered mana abilities do happen during the resolution of spells and abilities... right?

So triggered mana abilities only trigger off of normal mana abilities, which can only be activated during the resolution of a spell of you are asked to pay a cost. So, if an opponent casts Mana Leak to counter one of your spells, you get the chance to activate mana abilities during the resolution to pay for the {3}. When you do, each land you tap will trigger your Mirari's Wake which resolves immediately without needing to wait to go on the stack. So yes.

@seandun7083 You can actually activate mana abilities when you're asked to pay any mana cost, including while paying for a spell or ability. My question was targeted at what I believe is an exception to a point the OP made near the end of the video.

if my opponent exiled my caretakers talent with a sheltered by ghosts on one of their creatures and i cast sunfall, would my caretakers talent come back in time for me to draw a card for the same reason?

No. At first glance it looks like it should since Sunfall exiles all creatures before making the token, and the talent will come back immediately after Sheltered By Ghosts leaves without needing to wait for a trigger. It's important to remember though that Sunfall doesn't actually get rid of the Sheltered By Ghosts. That will happen when state based actions are checked and the game sees that it's not attached to anything, which will be after Sunfall resolves. If you replaced Sheltered By Ghosts with a Deputy of Detention, then you would get to draw a card.

@@noahedmonds-estes9204 That's actually a really subtle difference. When Sunfall destroys their creature, it doesn't destroy Sheltered by Ghosts immediately. The aura is actually put into the graveyard when state based effects are checked (since it has nothing to enchant), which won't happen until after the resolution of Sunfall. So although the creature is in the graveyard by the time you make the token, the Sheltered by Ghosts is still on the battlefield not attached to anything at that time, so you don't have Caretaker's Talent back in time to see the token.
