I've had the honor of playing against Judit Polgar in a simultan game (I was a 1300 rated player back then, who knew nothing about openings). We played the queen's gambit accepted, then she bashed a bishop into my short castle, long castled, and from then on, my only goal was to just survive. I got checkmated on move 23, it was a crazy game. Edit: Thank you for all the likes, I didn't expect this at all. I'm going to write down the entire game here for all of you (Judit had the white pieces). DISCLAIMER: I know I wasn't playing accurately at all, I've analyzed this game, don't educate me in the responses pls, thank you😇 1. d4 d5 2. Nf3 Nf6 3. c4 c6 4. Nc3 dxc4 5. e4 e6 6. Bg5 Be7 7. Bxc4 b5 8. Bd3 O-O 9. Qc2 g6 10. h4 h5 11. e5 Nd5 This is where the fun begins... 12. Bxg6 Bxg5 I didn't take back the Bishop, because I was scared of the Queen (Rightfully so I think). 13. hxg5 f5 I was like: I'm already dead, lets give her En Passant, 'cause why the f*ck not. 14. gxf6 Nxf6 I wanted to protect my King, so I sacced a Knight. 15. exf6 Rxf6 16. Rxh5 Qe7 Here, Kristóf started to panic. 17. O-O-O Nd7 18. Rh1 Qg7 I was awaiting death. 19. Bh7+ Kf8 20. Rg5 Qf7 21. Ne4 Bb7 Whoops, I blundered a dangerous fork. 22. In her prime, Judit was a perennial Top 10-20 (in the world) Super GM, with a vicious, tactical attacking style. I fully expect her to win lots of blitz games against any competitor, no matter how rusty she may be. She is light years beyond being just a "strong GM" and should be feared. No other woman in chess history has come close to what she accomplished.

In Rapport vs Nepo about 7 moves before she was like "but bishop sacrifice on h3 and it's a forced draw"... She litterally found it "over the board" 7 moves in advance while commentating with no engine. It took her like 5 seconds... In that moment I understood She is still super GM strength. Love her!
@aesaphyr
@aesaphyr 2 жыл бұрын
This is actually why I love Judit as a commentator. For sure she has the engine lines available but a lot of the time she's clearly not using them when she gives an initial opinion/assessment of a position. I've seen many instances of other GM commentators suggesting moves and she immediately points out the lines/outcomes of those. Also because her first analysis of a position is without the engine, she often gives a very good explanation of which moves certain players might find and which one they might not, which is always really interesting.
@johnfromireland7551

Judit is currently a professional chess teacher and commentator. She was No 1 female in the world (which takes almost supernatural ability to do so) and her record against male world champions is actually, I think, better than everyone else , male or female, ever. She was and is arguably the strongest player ever not to be world champion male or female. She has a plus score against all world champions she has played against. This included Kasparov. On that basis she is the worlds best chess player. She is still stronger than super GM strength. She is was and still is at "Legend" level able to defeat current world champs (Carlsen). Kasparov is playing bullet chess still and his rating is around 2700 despite his advanced years. He ahs only lost around 100 points from his time as world champ. The same for Judit. Her rating is probably 2750. Legends do not operate like normal human beings.

For those, who don't get what happened: Magnus Queen is the only defender of his d7 pawn. He can't take Judit's Bishop and can't move his Queen to a safe square without giving away the d7 pawn support. If he would do so, Qxd7 from Judit would be mate on the next move.

@@eddarby469 as you probably have discovered by now, there are several other KZbin videos analyzing this game. I only wonder if the players actually saw as deeply into some of the analysis as the other commentators. My guess is that they probably did not, but played some of the moves (like Magnus’ Nh6 and Bf8) out of general chess experience and “sense.” That could explain how he could move a rook to a semi-open file and miss the follow-up.

It's curious how Magnus is actually enjoying taking that loss against Judith. He doesn't look ashamed at all. And he also refuses a second game, and says: 'it's better for the story to keep it like this'.
@klatchabobby
@klatchabobby 2 жыл бұрын
Why would he look ashamed to lose to a former top 8 player? Anand isn't at all near his top form anymore, much like Judit, but he could still theoretically beat Magnus the same way, and he used to be the WCC.

Magnus is used to losing. Even tho he's the greatest player of all time he still loses 1 in 7 games to anyone rated above 2,600. Of course he usually plays less dubious openings during tournaments.

I love that they're being buds having fun! So - for some, it is probably worth knowing (part of the story) that this mate is well known, at least by people who play Taimanov in a dedicated way. Magnus was just drifting and having fun with his brain turned off - and that is entertainment value in its own right - but who better than Judit to yank his chain??
