I always wonder at how professional chess players just get up and go the moment the game finishes. No winding down from the game, no friendly chat with their opponent, just a clean break and off to whatever’s next.

In the position of 9:27 I saw the move Bg5, threatening Bh4, with the same result: or White plays the King and Bh4 comes anyway, forcing Qh2, or White plays Qh2 immediately. Then Black plays Kf7 or Kg7 and the Rook can lift towards the h file.

@Gravitar4 жыл бұрын

Two markedly different approaches to the game shown here, and I can't even say that I 'like' Carlsen's the best. To use a boxing analogy, my favorite fighter of all-time is Thomas Hearns, who, among other attributes, always brought an exciting offensive attack to the ring. Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, was the great out-pointer and defensive master, and always had his hand raised at the end (undefeated). Both unquestionably ATG's: one the flawless tactician, the other with the more exciting style. I liked/admired them both.
