Once upon a time a girl from the American South travelled to the land of OZ to hear a talented lady from South Australia sing with her mateys. Upon visiting a Brisbane record store, the American girl from Louisiana heard over the speakers the Australian girl's song of steaming down the river into New Orleans" Louisiana...what a memorable moment! Judith often employed this bold vocal dynamic within many of the songs she did as a Seeker. It is an essential component of that extraordinary blend that is capable of captivating the listener almost instantaneously. No one would have purposefully thought of inserting a jazz artist into a folk group. Happenstance or serendipity....it's fascinating to see how things came together to produce what is arguably the greatest folk group ever. jtk
